This movie only became clear to me now.
7 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It's. About. Beauty. About the path of a person, an ordinary creative person. It's about his life and the life around him. This is about us. So simple, so chilling. Detailed contrast of nature.

This film is worth watching only in a certain state of mind. I watched it a second time, completely free, a few hours before bed. It was a wise decision. A few days ago I experienced feelings similar to the main character of the movie, this also affected the perception of the film. Now it is is one of my favorites.

(I don't understand why so much drama was piled on character of Natalie Portman, when they could have just done a DNA test on the child. This was really unclear to me.)

Amnesia: The Bunker (2023 Video Game)
8/10
The hardest Amnesia ever
16 February 2024
One location. One big hunter. You should make things fast and silent, if you don't want to lose the light of hope.

Without attention to details and letters you will not understand, what's your goal and how to achieve it. The game is very stressful. Unlike previous series, here everything does not seem so simple, clear and homogeneous. It is complex, it forces you to overthink and experiment.

I would like to note the improved visual component, which managed to preserve the aesthetics of Amnesia. Regarding optimization, I want to say that there is a strange solution in loading the world during the game in some places, that makes the bunker heterogeneous, but it's not so critical.

When light is the only escape from horror, nothing else can cloud your mind.

Max Payne (2001 Video Game)
6/10
Resident Evil with John Woo bullet-time
9 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
If it weren't for the cool gameplay, it would be 5/10. There are a lot of meaningless details, interactions with decorations and so on, I added this to the pluses. Living world, sort of. There are also traces of bullets, so realistic...

The plot is something... weird? Resident Evil. Underground laboratories, the Valkyrie virus... Illuminati conspiracy? A wife who accidentally saw secret data that made her husband kill half of city population? Sure, it is cool, perhaps even holistic, but it felts like... what they came up with, that was shoved into the plot in a row. The immortal Max Payne, who treats himself with packs of pills, killed everyone on the ship, killed everyone in every building in New York, killed everyone in the subway, killed everyone in the sewers and killed everyone in the laboratories... Some kind of crap, which was exciting only in 2001, but not now. Now you can think about this trash more wisely.

The whole game could have been played with a bat, really. And who is going to pass it on other difficulty levels, who needs it? Why couldn't it be possible to open them right away and leave only the time-limited mode closed? Some moments I actually speedrun, pinned the bandits in the corner and killed them through the doors with a bat.

Game for one evening, but it feels very big and mixed up. I thought it was a noir detective story, but it turned out to be Resident Evil with a dude, whose answer to everything is bullets and the same facial expression.
