Good and fun entertaining
2 March 2022
I like the show, it has a different vibe compared to the original, which i also loved. It is inspirered by real events, and it tells its story with love and the right amount of gore. I am surprised how good it is, and im looking forward to the next season. There is not so many dreams and visions as in the original, like no Gods wandering among men. Its gives to the theme that this a time of change in the old ways, which give the "modern" vibe.

An epic masterpiece
27 November 2014
This movie has been one of the most expected series in Danish television ever. And there are very different opinions about it. Let me try to mention the components that makes this a series you wont forget so easily, and why I think it is a masterpiece. The photography is brilliant, the costumes and makeup are great and the set is amazing. And the music score by Marco Beltrami is over the top. The actors are excellent, both the children, and the rest of the cast. The series is built up, not with a story that end with a climax in each part of the series, but as a long movie, and this is hard for some viewers to understand. For dramatic reasons some incidents and persons are not totally described as they were historically. But the story certainly hit you emotionally. The scenes from the battle is comparable to Omaha Beach in "saving Private Ryan". Think also "Barry Lyndon" and "1900" and you will have some hint on what it is all about. I loved it, and i am curious how Ole Bornedal will cut the series into a Cinema movie.

excellent film

This is a movie i came to see accidentally by zapping on the TV. And i had to see it all. It is very exciting, with a good build-up and some twists also. This is a film on the same level as "Goodbye Lenin" and "The lives of the others" with the same authenticity. I will recommend it to all for the good acting, the very good feeling of DDR in the sixties, the very good filming, and the convincing set. If it was a American movie it would have been a major hit. German really matches American and English movies in all aspects, and the fact that the actors are a little bit unknown to foreign viewers, just helps the feeling of real people and their lives. Don't miss this if you like a good, nerve spinning thriller based on historical events.

A very good historical drama about resistance in ww2 Denmark

It is one of the movies I simply wanted too see. And i was not disappointed. The actors are good, the feeling is like you live in the 40'es, and lot of things that really happened is in the movie, (and some is left out, but the result is dramatically OK).

It is a movie fit for the big screen, it is delicious to watch in every way, and i give it a big 10, love the twist about the front figures versus their leaders pulling strings in the back. Thure Lindhardt is very convincing as the flame, he matches the picture i have of him since i first read about Flammen. Mads Mikkelsen does a good job, and Stine Stengade is lovely. Peter Mygind is often casted as a comic figure, nice to see him in a more semi dark role.
