Jagten (2012)
Brilliant and disturbing
I've had on my watchlist for ages and people kept writing on Reddit to watch it. Have to say it's brilliant and disturbing. The acting is on another level. I'm a HUGEfan of Mads. Just Mr Cool. As soon as I started watching it and the little girl got annoyed with him I had anxiety , especially after she told the Headmistress. It's played out so well and I think we can all see this happening in real
Life. A little lie , someone twists it then BANG! It is so real , you can feel his pain and you just know how people will react. I can't praise it enough. Acting of the highest quality and the story is brilliant. The small town scenario is superb and you can feel the hate. It's just BRILLIANT and yet DISTURBING!
Licence to Kill (1989)
Much needed Bond
I really liked when Timothy Dalton came on as the new Bond. He had a touch of class, was tough and is what I thought Bond should have been in previous films. Sean Connery was great for a while but started to look disinterested, Roger Moore was making it a bit fun but not really a " tough " Bond. I liked that Timothy Dalton put his own stamp on it. The 2 Girl's were stunning and played their parts well. Ok, not the Best film but enjoyable and the baddies were played really well. Good locations and was a good story. In my eyes it was a shame he only did 2 films. I thought he should have done more.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)
A really good effort
Personally I really like this film. I thought George Lazenby was a really good Bond. He was tough , a few fights and was a very good actor. Of course he's not Sean Connery but he was starting to look tired in his last few outings. I thought Diana Rigg was superb and obviously beautiful. She's a fine actress too. Telly Savalas played a good baddie and it was a good script. It's a shame George Lazenby didn't do more. I thought he showed a lot of promise. He wasn't a corny joker like Roger Moore which I was glad about. I liked a lot of the scenery in this film and was enjoyable. Not the best Bond but a really good one.
The Terrornauts (1967)
Out of curiosity
I only wanted to watch this JUST to see Zena Marshall who is just soo beautiful. Just weird to see her in this. A strange film. Weird seeing Charles Hawtrey in this, definitely out of his comfort zone. Not really sure what the film is about ... some weird monsters that make weird noises. With stick on Plastic grills. Not really though out well. Just so zany , that you watch it wondering how the Cast went along with it. Some very odd costumes too. It looks like a local school had their kids make up the costumes for the cast. Truly awful film but yiu watch it out of curiosity. As I say, I ONLY watched it for Zena....
Prometheus (2012)
Broaden your mind
So my take on this , is it dares to be a bit bolder and adventurous than the others. I really like the film after too. I found David really good. Can never work out if he's a goodie or baddie! I'm a huge fan of Noomi too. Talented and very beautiful, and I liked Mr Fassbender too. He's a class actor. He portrayed David really well. Ok, it had lots of flaws but I really enjoyed it. Yiu can only have so many Alien scares so I liked that they dud something very different. Sean Harris is another great actor and he added his menacing side that is really good. Liked the Science fiction gadgets, those balls that moved around were a great idea. Loved the quiet moments in the film, very visual and really cool. A really good story. There's only so many Alien films you can do , the first 2 were great but when Ripley gave birth that was it. It got ridiculous. This film thankfully is not like that. Just broaden your mind and enjoy it.
Treason (2022)
Must watch
I absolutely loved this. Very engrossing right from the start. Great cast of actors , which made it very entertaining. A great story which would ( if not already ) make a greater book. I loved the complexity of the story. Makes you realise how devious people can be. Lots of little twist and turns and not too predictable. The Kids too played the parts really well. I loved the idea that was based in London which made it even better. I love seeing Olga too, big fan of hers. She played it really well. My only gripe was it ended too soon. I thought that it could have one more episode but otherwise really good. It just ended too soon!
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
Should have been called SCREAM
Average film ruined by constant screaming. Really puzzled why it gets above 7! Lame love affair. No chemistry and not really a great story. An ok film for background noise. The constant screaming way too much for me. Needed a lot more substance for a story. The Baddie was good , I liked Shorty. I think the Film was rushed and not really thought out too well. Some action bits we're ok but no where near as good as the one before. The lady who screamed a lot , not really sure why she was a love interest. No chemistry and I'm sure she's a good actress but in this she just screams and whines a lot. All in all not great.
Mannequin (1987)
I adore this
This is such a feel good film. Just literally makes me happy. So underrated. Great Cast, happy, funny and a great song too. Right from the get go it is humorous and ok, it's very 80s and the dress sense is loud but still now it's fabulous to watch. I could watch it once a week and not get bored. Andrew plays the part so well and I love the Cop with his dog. Kim is sweet and looks fab ( as usual) James Plays the baddie part well and I love the Colourful partner , his dress sense and his Glasses are cool. I can't knock it , it has so many good cheesy bits in it. Just a great all round happy film for all.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968)
MOST ENJOYABLE
I adore this film. Lovely innocent humour and leaves me feeling great. The singing is just brilliant, especially from the late great and beautiful Sally Ann Howes. I just love the simplicity of this film. Lionel J was brilliant, as is the baron. In fact everyone is brilliant. The film on a whole to me is not long enough!! I could do with more. Can't praise it enough.
