Big swing and a miss here - the story was intricate and filled with incessant screeching violin music. Most of the time you could barely hear what anyone was saying. The two bickering parents and their young child, Alice, did not make for a convincing family unit. I was prepared to only give this one star, but Justin Long added a bit of dimension with his role as Liam.
The last 20 minutes offered some much needed context to Jane's repressed memories, but overall we had unlikeable characters and no incentive to keep watching. I'm getting worn out by seeing movies where an adult goes to their haunted childhood home to unlock secrets.
