Firebite (2021)
Way better than Twilight!
I don't know why so many haters on here. Are you expecting an Academy Award winning series or something? I guess most of the bad reviews are from those that enjoyed rubbish like Twilight.
This is a whole new slant on Vampires although some say it's been done before. Not like this it hasn't but seriously, how many different ways can you portray vampires?
I watched the first two episodes and find myself eagerly awaiting the third.
Bloody great way to pass the day.
Honest Thief (2020)
Don't believe the low ratings...
Not sure what the ones who gave a bad rating were expecting. Perhaps an Academy award winning movie?
If they had half a brain, they would realise it's an action movie which is what Liam Neeson does best. Yes there are some flaws but which movie doesn't have them?
If you liked the Taken movies, you will love this because I sure did.
Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)
Absolutely the best movie of the year!
I'm sure you have seen some good and bad reviews of this movie on here. The ones that love it give it 10/10 and the haters are the total opposite and not many in between. I can't fathom those that hate, as surely they would have known what sort of movie they are going to see, so why bother if you don't like this sort of thing? It's like me going to see some teary chick flick (which I hate), then coming on here and bagging it to the hilt. Not sure what these haters expect from a movie with an R rating. I shake my head in disbelief. Movies are meant to be entertaining and engaging and by god, Kingsman is all that and more. It has loads of violence, action special effects and comedy. What more could you want? Do yourself a favour and see it if you want to be entertained. Don't see it if you don't like these types of movies. Pretty simple really.
Taken 3 (2014)
Great action movie like all the other Taken's
Wow...after reading some of the reviews, anyone would think they were reviewing an Academy Award nominated film. Whatever happened to watching a movie for fun and escapism and having a good time, because this film is certainly all that.
I took my 15 yr old daughter along as well and she loved it, as did I. Yes nobody was taken but who gives a toss. What else would you suggest the movie be called that is part of the same franchise and has the same character? Seriously some of these reviewers need to get the plum out of their mouth and stick with watching other types of movies more suited to writing 25 paragraphs of hate. They clearly have no interest in the action genre.
Go and see it and enjoy it for what it is...a great action movie with a pretty good story and don't go with the idea that it's going to win any Academy Awards.
Evil Dead (2013)
Waste of time and effort
How the hell can this movie score so highly on here, yet be so crap? Another reviewer mentioned fake reviews but either way there is no way this should be any more than a 2 out of 10. I was going to give 1 but something possessed me and made my finger hit the 2.
I thought the original Evil Dead was a great movie which I saw many many years ago, but I still remember it well. As for this movie, I'll have forgotten about it by the time I finish this review.
The reasons it sucks are as follows: Not scary, no tension, no thrills, too much blood and gore (which in the original was funny but in this one it isn't), the story is crap, the acting was crap...you get the picture. If you're a fan of blood and gore hack slash movies, you may think this is OK.
If you're a real horror fan, steer well clear and go watch the original again.
Ted (2012)
As funny as a funeral...
Not sure what funny farm some of the reviewers come from but to say the movie is a laugh a minute is really stretching the imagination! One minute of laughs during the whole movie would also not be an accurate summary. Yes I may have smiled a couple times when the bear delivers some rude and crude lines but I think that was more the fact that it was a bear saying it. Mark Wahlberg was OK but I personally think he should stick to action movies and do what he does best. The novelty of the walking, talking bear wore off after 5 minutes. I am so glad I didn't pay money to watch this movie cos I would have been undergoing treatment for severe depression otherwise. If you really must see this movie, I suggest watching a trailer on youtube or somewhere online and that will no doubt show all the 'best' parts of the movie and save you having to sit through the whole thing.
Grave Encounters (2011)
About as scary as the Smurfs
Well unless all the other reviewers here are 10 yr old kids, this movie is about as scary as your stock standard boring average horror movie. Yes there are scenes where you see something behind the actors...scenes where something suddenly appears and makes you jump. Other than that standard sort of horror fare, you will be sadly disappointed cos I can tell you I was. After reading some of the reviews, saying it was the scariest movie they had ever seen blah blah blah, I thought you beauty...finally something to truly scare me. I sat down with a female friend (who gets freaked out by mildly scary movies), turned out the lights, cranked up the surround sound and was ready to be scared. By the end of the movie I was still waiting and ready to be scared but sadly it never came. My friend also commented, saying it did scare her a couple times when something suddenly appeared on the screen...but you get that in any movie. As one of the other reviewers said, he hasn't been scared by a movie for many years and I'm the same. The last movie that absolutely scared the pants off me was The Blair Witch Project, where you didn't see a single ghost/monster/zombie. It's all in the mind. Watch this movie and you will be bored out of your mind...
