Mother/Android (2021)
skipped through almost half of it. Good thing Terminator and Alien movies aren't made these days.
Logged to Netflix, this movie pops out, Chloë Grace Moretz ? Hell yeah...
aaaaaaand is a boring over-inflated drama about feelings. So stuffed with "woman good/man bad". I guess I'm too much of a fan for Sarah Connor-- which Georgia (Chloe's character) is clearly not.
Characters lack any kind of strong lines, everything is so 'not offensive'. Good thing Terminator and Alien movies aren't made these days.
And there are so many fractures of logic and common sense it's ridiculous.
What I liked: the way the director/cinematographer catched the Chloe's so-Hollywod-classic beauty in several close-ups.
C'mon Chloe, you can do better!
Anyway, why had Dr Gordon have to appear in this movie anyway? :)
Est - Dittatura Last Minute (2020)
High sentimental value-- and that's it
I am Romanian, I live in Bucharest, I actively experienced the revolution.
I understand this is not a documentary, but the spin on certain tear-jerking parts of life was too much to watch. Sounded like "superior people" lay the "light of civilsation" upon a backward people. I call it arrogance. The images on end credits show exactly what kind of people were those three guys from Italy.
Also the movie started promisingly but somehow got lost on the way. Maybe funding was over?
Meh, such a good story deserves a better interpretation.
Bruised (2020)
solid movie
Are You Not Entertained? In the sea of sub-par productions this is standing tall. Not a masterpiece, granted, mainly because it *has* to touch all the correct notes in order to avoid controversy. PC is cancer.
In real world Halle Berry would faint when a real fighter such as Lady Killer (Shevchenko: professional mixed martial artist and former Muay Thai fighter) breathes. However I did see in Jackie a strong and motivated character fighting first and foremost own demons.
