Unsilenced (2021)
A movie showing the true face of totalitarian regime
I gave this one a 9, because of the courage of the film crew and the suffering Falun Gong went through over the course of their persecution, which starter in 1999 and still continues to this day.
I admire film directors who are not afraid to speak the truth. Great cast and production! Definitely recommend watching this one.
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
A little dumb
As a true story this movie has probably done well illustrating a life of a multi millionaire. However, the amount of deviant content (drugs, sex, swearing) is a little overboard for my taste. I think showing this type of stuff only propells the degeneration of public morality.
Inception (2010)
Unusually captivating
Christopher Nolan is known for creating immersive and complex scripts. I like his work, however i had to watch this movie 3 times to grasp the basics of what's going on. This movie is definitely for those who like to think. Amazing special fx and music score. Experimental and epic.
La La Land (2016)
Uplifting
It's not often that I see a musical, especially the one with Ryan Gosling in it. I was very impressed by the whole thing - the color, the music, dancing and acting, in my opinion were at a very high level. This movie is truly original and leaves a good impression. I watched it twice.
Isle of Dogs (2018)
Brilliant!
Isle of Dogs was one of the first movies I watched from Wes Anderson's collection. That has led to an ongoing interest in his work as a film director. I was amazed by the ingenuity of production and top tier actor voiceovers. I watched it in the cinema in London and was blown away by how well everything was put together. It's funny, well balanced, incredibly entertaining for both the children and adults.
