The Brady Kids (1972)
Guest Appearances were interesting!
This show had pretty good merit if you accept it as a kid's show. It was the guest appearance of characters that you couldn't even imagine seeing on the live "Brady Bunch" show. What chance would you think that The Brady Kids would meet up with Superman, Lone Ranger & Tonto, Wonder Woman, Clint Flint, Charlie Chan, and so many others! I guess the appearance of these characters were used in the same fashion as "The New Scooby-Doo Movies".
The magical bird called "Merlin" was cute! He was always during spells and winds up causing disasters. I always wish that they could have used the Kids from the Partridge Family to make a guest appearance on this show, because they are so comparable!
Man-Thing (2005)
Crap-Thing
I saw this movie and it was crap! It was so far from the Comic Book rendition, and we don't even get a glimpse of Man-Thing until the last 20 minutes of the movie. The make-up of the title character was terribly cheap and didn't even give a remote resemblance to the real thing.
Films based on characters from Marvel Comics were doing so well, but this one is a real embarrassment to their reputation.
I was hoping to have Man-Thing himself done with CGI, complete with the long trunk as he was featured in the comic books.
Also the Man-Thing was not suppose to be evil as he was portrayed in this movie, just mis-understood!
Jersey Girl (2004)
Excellent Story
I can't see why this movie didn't last longer in the theaters! It was an excellent illustration of how a little girl grows up with a widowed father.
Raquel Castro is such a charming and lovely little actress, and I do hope to see more of her in future projects, because it would be such a shame to she her go to waste like many other young actresses do!
I do agree that she does look like what we would expect as a young version of Jennifer Lopez.
I would love to see a sequel to this film, perhaps gravitate it more to the beach in Summer, as oppose to the school.
Nine Deaths of the Ninja (1985)
Ninja Girl getting an Arrow in her Back
The most interesting part of the film was when the lead character had to practice in a forest of other ninjas! One of the Ninjas he pulls off the mask as is revealed to appear as a teen age girl! He refuses to kill her and proceeds to walk away, she then pulls out a knife to go after him but unknown to the girl that his master was watching over him with a bow & arrow in hand, and the master shot an arrow squarely into this girl's back, and she staggered with it for about a minute before she finally collapsed! It seems so seldom to see a female character getting wounded in the back! I just wish that the camera could have shown the girl from behind showing the arrow sticking in her back!
The Night Walker (1964)
The Dagger in the Back
I was about 5 years old when I first saw this movie. I apparently caught it mid-stream after a commercial break, and the first thing I recall was some girl (later idenitified as "Joyce")staggering through the house with a knife sticking into her back, and an older woman walks out of the house upon being woke up. For 30 years I alway wonder what the movie was all about, and how did the girl get that knife in her back.
In 1999, the questions were finally answered, and to me the scene of Joyce getting the dagger planted into her back is what I remember best of this movie. I would love to see movie re-made with a modern setting, and retain the scene with the character of Joyce's death scene and have more emphasis on her expression when she feels the dagger planted into her back!
The Girl Who Came Gift-Wrapped (1974)
The Way I Like Films to be Made!
Its been 30 years since I saw this movie, but I remember it well, and seeing Karen Valentine in that bikini really made the movie for me! She has such beautiful skin tones and being so slender in the two piece bikini really made the ratings on my score board. Having her clad in those halter tops throug out the remaining part of the movie was a big bonus! I wish a sequel would have been made, but after so many years gone by I would just assume to have a re-make of this movie using an young actress of today's generation.
Mixed Company (1974)
Favorite Scene
I saw this movie twice, first time in the theater. The movie was well written and very interesting indeed. The character I liked best was the couples' youngest and biological daughter, Mary (played by Ariane Heller). She was so cute and mischeivous, and had very beautiful brown eyes! I loved the scene where she was in the bathroom showing her adopted Black Brother, Freddy, that she was all white by removing her bath robe standing there wearing only in her under pants. This scene was so cute!
I wish this film had a sequel, and hope that it will be released on DVD soon!
