Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)
Terrible
The worst romantic comedy I have watched. Ever. I don't even want to go into it, even thinking about it is repulsive. I cannot for the life of me understand why, WHY is this movie rated so high?!! I love romantic comedies with a passion but this one was just such a miss.
Not only was it super slow, but it also was a complete mess that left you both confused and frustrated. I was expecting what with the rating and Hugh Grant being the main lead, for it to at least turn out to be mediocre. But alas even to that degree it woefully failed.
Why is this movie even categorized as a romance? There was barely any screen time with the top main leads and they never even talked to each-other really about anything. All they did was make out and do the dirty a few times. Oh and she was unfaithful to her fiancé, how romantic!
Do yourselves a favor at don't waste your time.
Lockwood & Co. (2023)
Loved it!!
Watch it!
Totally worth watching, all of the characters were easy to love, the chemistry between them- and the banter- *chefs kiss.
Had everything to love all wrapped up in it! Found family, romance, friendship, rivalry, mystery and add a little pinch of the undead. What else could you want?
I was absolutely distraught to hear that they've canceled the show!!
You should absolutely take the time to watch it, I promise you won't be let down.
I am really hoping that if enough people enjoy the show and put up a fuss, that they might decide to renew Lockwood and Co. For SEASON TWO!!!
Give it a go! You can find it on Netflix. :)
The Five-Year Engagement (2012)
Great movie 🎥
The Five- Year Engagement fully satisfied my funny, romantic with a plot, movie craving. Definitely one of the best romcoms out there with a great story, script, characters and chemistry. I watched this movie with my parents and all of us at some point or other in the movie found ourselves rolling around in laughter for a good few minutes. Honestly I did not find my self at any point during the movie critiquing or complaining (which is a feat, I assure you ;p) the acting was spot on and the many comedic moments hit great every time. I also want to mention that although this movie was a total romcom, it had its moments of realism and a great slow-burn of their relationship progressing and shifting throughout. Thoroughly pleased with this movie and definitely think it's worth the watch.
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
Just because it's depressing doesn't mean it's good
I feel like I just wasted 2 hours of my life watching this movie. It kept my interested throughout only because I was waiting endlessly for it to go somewhere. Unfortunately I was sorely disappointed.
The actors did a good job, and I was impressed with them at some moments, but there was zero character development or resolution at any point in the story.
I get that the screenwriters and directors were trying to give the movie a "realistic" vibe, yes life is &$@*&@* depressing, but honestly the only feeling this movie left me with was disappointment.
Take my advice and don't waste your time.
Beauty and the Billionaire (2022)
It wasn't bad
It wasn't bad. Over all, the movie was fun to watch, the brother Pete's many facial expressions had me and my mum cracking up most of the movie. We did notice the main actresses hair changed abruptly from dirty blond to almost black with no explanation. 😂 I personally found the main male lead pretty annoying, but the story was still fun and engaging. Not something I'd rewatch(I only do that when they're really **** good) but it did the job just fine. (I did think the guys character changed about to fast to be at all realistic but ehh so what.. at least us forget about the crippling depression that is life for an 1 and 33 minutes. (Yes I'm rambling because I'm trying to fulfill the amount of characters needed to submit this review)
Cyrano (2021)
Cyrano
I enjoyed it. The cinematography was excellent, as well as the choreography. At moments in some songs I was irked.
But most of them were absolutely lovely, indeed I teared up during the send this letter one. All in all it was very enjoyable. Possibly the most enjoyable movie I have seen in a good while.
I did fell as if they could have made certain parts more tragic. And maybe have made Christian more useful?
