Dope (2015)
Still disappointed, expected better from Rocky
I'm a huge A$AP fan but didn't know Rocky did this movie until about a week ago when I saw on his Wikipedia page. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed by how formulaic the plot was and how little we actually saw of his character "Dom". Shameik Moore who plays Malcolm is crazy talented but the movie itself, including the ending (how many other coming of age films end w/ something college related - no spoilers though!), just felt dry and forgettable.
The Second Age of Aquarius (2021)
"Sock it to me baby!"
Not gonna lie, I wasn't too excited by the movie when I saw the cover art (no offense!). I was honestly shocked by how much I enjoyed the movie: Michael Ursu could easily be a star in the future, but it's the music, not the acting, that steals the show. The movie feels less cinematic than it does like a musical/play, but I mean that in the best way possible.
P. S.: "Blue Movie" is a hit and needs to be on Spotify as a single!
Blue Ruin (2013)
Blue Ruin
SPOILERS - The scenes where Macon Blairs character gets out of the hospital and goes back to Sam's place still is chilling to me which is why I decided to rewatch the movie. Overall the score is still pretty good in the movie but. Macon Blair's performance is why its best worth watching. Cinematography holds up to but its scenes like the hospital scene that make it worth it.
Wrong Cops (2013)
"Hey! Write a book about what?"
Still one of my favorite funny movies ever and still bumbed it got taken off of Netflix. Wrong Cops has one of the funniest endings ever (no spoilers see for yourself!!!) and Marilyn Mansons appearance is fun as always. But the best is the EDM motif which makes the whole thing come together as a wacky good time. TOo bad cops in real life are even worse!!!
Dust Up (2012)
Modern day Western classic
10 years on and still love this movie! Was reminded of it by a friend I saw it with in 2012 and it still holds up til this day. Jeremiah's performance still absolutely rocks and.the score is still awesome.
