Stagecoach (1966)
Excellent Remake
I really enjoy this version, mainly because of the more up to date actors and actresses in it. I do not understand the nay sayers as it is enjoyable in its own right, and should be viewed only for its entertainment value - and as a comparison I just wish it was more readily available for rent or purchase...such as on Apple TV! Cannot figure out how they and other vendors can be so selective about which movies they offer...surely an any profit is better than no profit. There seems to be a multitude of movies that get little or no coverage that are just as good if not better than some offerings lately.
Lawmen: Bass Reeves (2023)
Enjoyable!
I enjoyed the first 5 or 6 episodes, but the last ones were a little out there and short. The last episode left me with questions unanswered, perhaps that was the intent. Over all a 7 at best. I enjoy most of Taylor Sheridan's stories/shows/endeavors, but I am glad this one is not setup for another season - or don't think it is. The shows with multiple seasons take far too long between them - so much so that I loose interest and let alone remember what was in the prior season. I truly believe it would be better to conclude some of his other shows like Yellowstone (if it is ending); or 1923 before coming out with more new ones.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
Loved the First Season...but
We loved the first season and looked forward to each new episode and to the following second season. However, the second season has been a big disappointment...it is like they are trying to make big joke out of the series. The "cartoon" episode was awful and made little sense to the point we slept through half of it; and the "singing" episode was just plain ridiculous. As much as we would like to see this continue...they need to up their game for us to continue watching! We truly hope it gets better - but with only 10 episodes per season - it looks like this season has been wasted. Other viewer may see it differently...this is our opinion.
Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Very well done...but?
I clicked on this movie - just trying to find something to watch. I it was a very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. It is mostly slow paced, but well done. My only other comment is at the end I was left with the question of who actually killed the murder victim. The evidence leave you with the assurance that the prime suspect did not do it; until the end with the shell neckless is found. But that begs the question of how the prime could do it...or was there someone else involved. Like I said...very well done - but left me wanting more information on who or how the crime was accomplished.
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961)
Enjoyable
Why is the very "enjoyable" 60 yo movie not available for streaming (preferably on Apple TV). I enjoyed it at the theater as a child and still watch it occasionally on DVD...but it would be much better and easier if available for streaming. With all the junk B and C rated movies they push out, it would be nice if they would spend some time putting out the still unreleased classics...like this one!
Hellfighters (1968)
Why?
Granted this is not the best Wayne film...but it has a lot of merit in my opinion. Would like to know why this is not on the Wayne choices to buy on Apple TV (formerly iTunes). It is just as good if not better than some of the other older Wayne films. Please add it soon!
