I took my kids to see this movie and regretted it. I excepted the war scenes to be a bit intense, pushing the limit for what I will let my kids watch but those scenes weren't too bad.
The rest of the movie though ... the teenagers are obnoxious stereotypes, the dad tries to drag the dog out of a metal cage and shoot it in the head (but is stopped), the dog is pretty vicious and has many scenes where it bites people or tries to or gets in dog fights. The Dad is angry all the time, the mother is crying (because of the dead brother).
This is not a happy family movie (as advertised) and I double checked the parental warnings. I wasn't worried that people said sh!t 5 times or we saw some 16 year old side boob. This movie is intense for kids and boring for adults.
