Challengers (2024)
I gave it a 9 quickly after seeing it.
Zendaya Proves she is down for Movie Stardom.
My first experience of her was Euphoria. It was kinda like, yeah I've seen her face in more mainstream stuff but wasn't even sure of her name. She's young as hell, but also Mature as hell. She's Down to Act. Bravo to her. Not knowing Reznor and Co scored the movie before I hit play, that was a very Welcome surprise. Huge NIN fan. Fell asleep while watching The Facebook Movie in the theater. It was all too similar to my 23 year old dumbass at the time and I had just worked all day dealing with the public animals that are consumers. What am I talking about? This is the freshest breathe of air I've had with a modern movie since stuff like THE HOLDOVERS. 90% of movies at the moment are not worth a second glance. But there will Always be Greats like this that will ring out through Time.
Bo Burnham: Inside (2021)
Not many get a TEN from i...
Infinity+1/Infinity
I think he may have just Single Handedly Saved The Comedy Special. At the same Time, reinventing it. Great job, Bo.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Hahaha. I mean, "lol". Sorry if I CONFUSED YOU SIR!
No plans to watch this. Was basically dragged. And DAMN glad I was. (No punch line) Later.
Grace Under Fire: The Road to Paris, Texas (1994)
I grew up in Paris, Texas....
American Beauty is my favorite film. Growing up in Paris I had a friend named Greg. Greg died at 20 when a truck he was in the back of flipped over and killed him. Other friends in the back escaped, some how... I was 15. Greg showed me American Beauty and we watched it quite a few times. Alan Ball who wrote American Beauty wrote the Paris Texas episode of Grave Under Fire. A show I remember very vaguely watching with my mom because I was so young when it was on. 20 so years later I decided to watch Grace Under Fire from the beginning. And I'm glad I did. Because I discovered the Paris, Texas episode and it was written by Alan Ball who wrote my favorite movie, American Beauty. Thanks to my dear friend Greg Ricketts, from Paris, Texas. My home, sh***y town. Rest In Peace Greg. He was the smartest person I have yet to meet.
Paris, Texas (1984)
I grew up in Paris, Texas. 1987 to 2010. F This Movie.
This movie has nothing to do with my actual home town. When I was around 17 I was really excited to watch it. Then I was very disappointed it had nothing to do with the actual Paris, Texas I've grew up in. That small town is nuts. I saw more crazy stuff in 3 years than most people see their entire lives. I also became a film maker by age 18. I'm 33 now and my dream is to make my first feature about growing up in Paris, Texas in the early 2000s. Skateboarding. Friendship. Love. Death. Insane fun. My only goal is to make a classic. "Paris/TX" Coming Eventually... Peace.
