South Park (1997– )
10/10
A very good comedy and more clever than you think
23 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I have a special story about this show. Call my parents irresponsible if you want, but yeah I discovered this show with my dad when I was like 6 and a half. I always watched South Park with my family, especially my dad, my brother and sometimes my cousin.

When you are small you just laugh because they curses and you are shocked that cartoon characters can do that so you are a little surprised too! I grow up and now I can see how much this show is more clever than some people can think. It's totally more intelligent and watchable than most of the cartoons for kids nowadays that are only made for making money. So yeah, with my supervision I could watch South Park with my future kids (I don't have one now) , except some because they are VERY TRASH. Like the episode with the rape of Indiana Jones or the Britney Spears one. But Kenny Dies, I would without any hesitation !

Some points are made stupid in South Park but it's totally on purpose ! Like mr Hankey the talking poo of Christmas. And the potty humor is here to show us that the show is often in children's point of views .

South Park is talking about a lot of different subjects but it's sometimes not explicit. You have to guess what the message is, and depending the episode, you have to watch them twice. And it's pure genious! The 21th season for example, is mostly about toxic relationships with Heidi and Cartman and how someone can get manipulated by a bad person! Suicide, conversions camps, racism, police violences, disabilities, scams, illegal downloads, censorship, hypocrisy of some charity associations and it's just a little example of what the show is taking about, in a good or bad way.

The animation is not bad, it has its own charm with cute characters for the children and the adults are cool too but yeah I prefer the kids looks.

The characters are mostly good, some are a little annoying like Mr Hankey. Butters is very amazing,Tweek is funny and Cartman is a cruel one but funny!

The dub is better in the French version that I watch all the time because I am French. You should give it a try! The English version is still amazing !

An amazing show !

South Park: Kenny Dies (2001)
Season 5, Episode 13
9/10
A pretty sad episode but really realistic...
31 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
"Kenny dies" got me on the feels. The first time I saw it, in the beginning I was like "it would be funny and clever as usually". But then I realised some minutes letter that this episode is more clever and sad.

The plot is that Kenny got a fatal disease and he will die soon. Despite the fact that Kenny died in every episodes until this one, it's very dark for a show that some people judge "Stupid". This episode shows that South Park wants to make us know dark things that really happen in the world.

The episode tells us the different steps of a fatal disease and how the people around the sick person react. In the beginning of the episode the boys are playing while Kenny seems weak and cough often. Then, he is absent...and they learn the terrible truth at school...their friend...that he is eigh years old...is sick and he will die in a near future.

This episode could totally be shown to a child that is dealing with a sick friend or a sick loved one in general. Some curse words and show dark humor are present, but it can be really educational despite the ending (I will talk about it later). I think a child could recognize himself in Kyle or Stan (not Cartman..I hope so haha).

Kyle is sad, but he tries to stay strong despite how sad the situation is for him. Stan, he is devastated, he thinks that a kid should be outside playing and laughing, and that it's unfair that he is in the hospital with all of those wires. His reaction got me in the feels, because yeah, it's true. Young children dies of diseases and there is nothing we can do about it. And it's totally unfair, because yeah a kid should play, should discover the world and enjoy life and grow up.

The scene when Stan has finally enough courage to visit him at the hospital, and well, he realizes that Kenny is dead and his last words were "where's Stan" is really emotional. It tells people, that if someone is at the hospital, dying, put your pride and scareness aside and visit them before their last breath. Even if it's your friend, your parent, even someone you had a fight with. If they are dying and you are sad about it go see them and enjoy a moment with them.

With analyses this episode is deep, and it's not the only one, but this one is the one of the best of the series for me. There is some humor like with Madonna, but it still a dramatic episode.

The only flaw I could give to it, it's the ending, Cartman didn't really care about Kenny's death and I think it's terrible. Well I prefer to think that he cared but without showing it.

Despite the curse words and the dark humor, when I will have a kid, if he has to deal with a young friend who is sick, I will totally show them this episode.

One of the best movie made for Internet
22 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Dick figures the movie is based to Dick figures an amazing web series that is now cancelled and it's quite a shame.

This movie tells a crazy story, that doesn't make very sense but it's totally with the vibes of the series so it's kind of okay even if some things could be better about the plot.

Red and Blue are two friends that are pretty different and not very in the same way of living and thinking. Red is an alcohol addict, that likes chicks and he is very sexist and he is acting like a jerk and a teenager. Blue is more calm and serious than Blue but he can be really badass like in the end of the movie.

The movie opens with how Red and Blue met each other, so basically they met in Elementary school when they were 6. Red fought all people that were bullying Blue to maybe protect him? The first fight is really epic like all fights in the movie.

The plot is not perfect, is perfectly enjoyable but some points are pretty predictable, like the fight with Red and Blue. Everything is well executed but unfortunately it's a shame that the movie couldn't be longer because I would love to. The jokes are funny, stupid but funny, it's totally a movie to chill out after a hard day. I love watching it when I don't feel okay. The funniest scenes are with Lord Tourettes that curse a lot, oh geez he makes us laugh. There are a lot of clichés about Japan and France too but it fits with the humor and I think it was made in purpose like that. Some jokes are a little dated by the way.

The animation is really well made for a movie with like less than 20 animators. The facial expressions are really well done and the animation is kind of smooth, like the fight scenes and the chase scene in Paris for example. The backgrounds are well done even if sometimes they are simple, like during the chase. Yes it's really well done, good job for all the animation team.

The OST is amazing too, some musics are really good and funny like « Epic Montage ».

It's a very good movie made by the help of kickstarter. I even own the DVD and it's a really pleasure to watch it frequently. Like it !

The Music Freaks (2020– )
9/10
A very decent Gacha animated series.
29 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Gacha Life and Gacha Club are often used by many children for making akward stories with a lot of spelling mystakes and dark scenarios. Rosy uses the very true potential of the app by giving us an animated series that could be on TV or Netflix. The main plot is about Jake, who is a bully because he wants fo fit in, but he decides to follow his dream to assume his sing talent so by the help of his crush Daisy, he joins the Music Club.

The first episodes were in the majority made by screenshorts of the Gacha Life app while the latest are animated with an app and Gacha Club. So the animations is good in the first episodes and in the latest, it's really well made with a lot of details and good effects. I mean everything move even the necklace of the main character Jake. The lightning is also really good and the face expressions are well done. In the Episode 9 at the end we totally can recognize both sadness and angryness in Jake friends' eyes.

The main plot is good, but not perfect, as some people said, you can guess what will happen sometimes. Like in the 9th episode I know that something bad will happen at the end after the horrible things Jake has told in his toxic friend's house that is named Drew because he got manipulated. Despite that, the scene is narrated good, the emotions of everyone is well shown. All the episodes gave us more and more details about the characters background and everything, the episode 8 for example is one of my favourite ones because we learn a lot about Hailey, the president of the Music Club, she is one of my favourite character by the way.

Some characters are interesting for their background, Zander and Luke are two gay childhood friends, they are funny but doesn't have that much background. Jake is really interesting, he was bullied in middle school and decided after meeting Drew and his crew, to become like the person who used to bully him during his past. But then while he was seen singing by his Crush, he decides to join the Club. But after few weeks he becomes very attached to the Music Club members.

Hailey is the only member, with Jake that can sing but she has a stage fright so it's why she needs a singer for the band competition. She was bullied like many, and some old friends of her betrayed her for please others. She is very attached to Jake and she is a very touching person with a good personality, one of the best written character of the whole series.

Sean is the cool guy, he is very chill and kind, even in the last episode he seems more sad than angry after what Jake has told about them. He seems to have a background because in the episode 6 and 7 it has been told that he has family issues. Unfortunalety this character is not shown enough and it's one of the flaw of the show.

Milly is the main guitarist, she was bullied and she became a crazy girl that can punch you whenever she is mad at you, she is also very funny, she loves hugs and she is very extatic. I like this character a lot too.

We can also see the family members of Hailey and Zander because yeah, Zander is Hailey's step-brother. And they are good but not shown often.

Then, there is the band of Jake, Drew, Henry, Liam, Zoey and Lia.

Drew has a rich dad and he loves to bully people from the Music Club, I love his voice acting and he can be very badass sometimes. But I don't like his personality that made me often angry while I was watching the series. He can be a good friend sometimes, like when he defends Jake in the 9th episode's beginning. But Drew is also toxic by using his past traumas to manipulate him.

Henry...is funny and that's it...I laughed many times because of him, his humor is funny and how he annoys people is very hilarious. But he can get on my nerves when he acts like a children while he is like 16 or 17. He is a MHA fan too.

Liam...one the of leastest written character, we don't know much about him.

Zoey, Drew's girlfriend is a pretty ANNOYING character, a typical popular girl who bullies others. I hate her a lot, she is not very interesting as a character to be honest. And she is also a gold digger.

Lia, she is Zoey's best friend, but she has a background, she just turned to a bully for not being rejected. So I don't hate her, I kind of liking her. She didn't do a good thing by ditching Hailey but in this society, peer pressure is very dangerous.

The songs are very well chosen, good humor, and the animation is good. Despite some flaws, like sometimes the writing, or the lack of development about some characters like Liam or Sean. The show is pretty amazing for a youtube one, and I honestly think is better than some shows that is on TV. It's not made by professionals but it still a good job, good Job Actors.

Even though you don't like Gacha videos, you need to give it a try, like I did.
