The Ravine (2021)
Very well acted movie, took things a different direction than what was expected.
Not everything is what it seems. I'm not a religious person. I still enjoyed this movie. The message that it was trying to deliver to the world...well it isn't wrong, and a lot of people could use the relief from its message. That being said, I found the movie extremely well acted. It was emotional, well shot, interesting even, but not that typical murder mystery-plot unfolding-twist at the end kind of movie you'd expect to see. Was it disappointing for some? I can imagine it would be, but still a well executed film overall.
Boon (2022)
An easy watch if you enjoy revenge movies.
As a low budget film, this movie offers everything I expected to see. It is a fairly slow moving story, with routine shoot-outs and justice seeking protagonists with a background we're not so sure about. There are scenes where you are just routing for the good guy and want to know what happens next. An easy watch, with nothing over the top spectacular, but there are a few scenes that bring euphoria to the viewer. Looking forward to an action-packed sequel. Curious to know what they do with the characters.
Jukai Mura (2021)
Worth the watch, pleasantly surprised.
This movie offers some sharp direction, with certain angles that instantly put the viewer on edge. It has some unexpected style changes throughout the movie, of which at first, I thought I wouldn't appreciate, but grew to enjoy the differences. The story is fairly unique as far as Japanese ghost related movies go. While I wouldn't call it a scary film, you'll definitely experience some cringe-worthy scenes and the perfect mix of bright and dark cinematography that kept my eyes on the screen.
