Tenet (2020)
mumbo jumbo
Honestly, this is nonsense designed to make stupid people feel clever
and frankly, given the 7.3 rating ... it worked.
I didn't enjoy it. It didn't make sense. It's noise, soundbites, explosions. There's really not much more to it. Lots of music, chases, a tall woman playing exactly the same role she played in The Night Manager.
This is an empty vacuous piece of flash trash for a generations whose attention span is too short to tell a coherent story from a training montage. It's what the 20s deserve.
I'm just astonished / saddened that this is considered top class film making. It's glitter and smoke bombs.
3000 Miles to Graceland (2001)
Mass murderer lives happily ever after.
The fact that our hero looses his machinegun at the ceiling in the crowded casino still doesn't change the fact that he's there supporting 4 guys who mow down a dozen or more innocent folk. In a court of law he's guilty of mass murder with greed the only motive.
But we cheer for him and celebrate his happy ending...
The Death of Stalin (2017)
Not. Funny.
Wow ... this was so not funny. People laughed at this? I don't understand people.
Deadlocked (2020)
BAD acting
Watch this to understand the difference between good actors and bad actors, Decent acting could have made this watchable.
The Purge: Anarchy (2014)
Why didn't he start the night by the guy's house?
Why didn't he start the night by the guy's house?
Why wait for all hell to break loose before driving there at great risk?
Also, the government kill squads make no sense. They're very conspicuous. And if they want more people to die ... set fires. Everyone is locked in!
Also ... how come the purgers aren't setting fires? It's the ideal way to get victims out on the street and who is to stop them?
Other than that it was quite a fun flick. With decent performances all round and a nice sense of menace.
The Lake House (2006)
dull and implausible
It wasn't implausible because of the time-switch balony. I can go with that. It was implausible because of the complete lack of interest from either character or their friends regarding the fact that they had discovered a time portal. It's the tunnel-vision teen-girl time tunnel. The one that never gets used to generate limitless wealth through betting scams! Other than this, it was just tedious. Slow moving, totally lacking in life. It felt as though the actors were sleep-walking through it, and I've enjoyed both Bullock and Reeve's work in non-action films before.
One to miss.
Zombie Beach Party (2003)
A really bad film made much worse by a terrible lead
Boy, can Jules Delorme turn crap into uber-crud or what? I'm guessing they cast him as a zombie on the misunderstanding he was acting, and when they swapped him to Ulysses and realised it wasn't an act... it was too late, the budget was blown.
The film itself has a bunch of funny nods to the zombie flick tradition and with a decent lead it might have stood a chance. If you're tempted to see this film, just bang your head against a wall for ten minutes instead. You'll end up with that same ache behind the eyes and unanswered 'WHY LORD?!' and it'll have taken far less of your time to get there.
Be warned.
