SEAL Team (2017)
Great until season 5
Whoever decided to add Fwords and other vulgarities to the series in season 5 should be fired. This series was well written up until some jerk decided unnecesaery cuss words would add something for the audience. I know some people have foul mouths, but those foul mouths add nothing to a good story that most found interesting and tasteful. I would really like the person who did this to the series removed.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Great movie ruined by exaggerated violence/gore
Story great. Acting great. This would have appealed to a wider audience if some misguided "artist" hadn't felt the need to express him/herself with unrealistic, over-the-top gore and violence. It could have been one of the best westerns made.
The Mosquito Coast (2021)
America Bashing Garbage
Another leftist propaganda movie about America's mistakes and no acknowledgement of it's greatness. The makers of this time-waster took every opportunity to plug in negative comments about America, and the excessively one-sided perspective ruined whatever good there is in it.
Debris (2021)
A Good, Clean Movie Series can be made - Debris proves it
No nudity, no sex scenes, no cussing - this will make many people not like this series. It's just a good story with good character development. You care about the characters from the start. Well worth the time.
The Mountain Between Us (2017)
unrealistic waste of time.
This couple would have been dead in the first few days. It is a very poor survival story. It is more a story of a women betraying her fiance and a man not respecting an existing relationship. It's pathetic that two people thinking they are going to die decide to fornicate instead of preparing to meet their maker - which the male actor acknowledged in the movie.
The leading lady seems to have trouble keeping her clothes on in the movies she makes. This one was no different.
This was a disappointing waste of time, but the scenery was beautiful.
My Octopus Teacher (2020)
Complete denial of the intelligence behind the complexity of nature
A needy man finds relationship with an octopus and marvels at how millions of years of evolution made the octopus so smart. Believing that adding millions of years to a worldview that believes order came from nothing or chaos is wishful thinking of people who do not want believe they are accountable to a creator capable of making the incredible beauty and complexity shown in this film.
Believing so many things evolved just at the right time to come together to make our complex world is delusional. Creation screams of design. Which came first, the apple or the orange? When did the apple "decide" to be an orange? How did our chaotic or nothingness world know what changes to make to change one from the other and how did both survive the change. And that is just one fruit.
The Submerging Church (2012)
Expose in the false teachings in New Age, Seeker Friendly/sensitive, and Emerging Churches
This is a good expose of heretical ideas infecting the Christian church.
Christians are supposed to believe in the innerrancy of the Bible. For the Christian, behavior is supposed to be influcenced by Biblical teachings. Christians are supposed to read the Bible for themselves to make sure that what they are being taught by their leaders conforms to Biblical Teachings.
This documentary does a good job of showing what happens to a church/culture when the above things aren't believed or don't happen.
If he Bible is not inerrant, then any person can define truth to benefit themselves. Make being a "good" person sound natural, easy, and fun and you will have plenty of followers who will support your ministry and make you rich.
By selective reading or by letting someone else read the Bible for you and tell you what it means, you can easily fall victim to con artists who will tell you what you want to hear.
This documentary helps you see God how He defined Himself in both the old and new testaments. It explains why it is not a good idea to let the culture redefine the Bible to support whatever beliefs are being pushed by the current elites.
This documentary favors premillenial and arminian ideas. It will be harder to watch in one sitting because it is made like a long lecture and the speaker often repeats himself. It would be a good idea if the makers could remake this documentary in a mini series with several episodes covering specific topics so viewers could chose to watch/review specific segments. Overall, it is worth the watch.
Many who have been seduced by the false teachers esposed in this film will hate it.
Braven (2018)
Very unrealistic ending
The poor ending, the last 20 minutes, ruined the movie. Too bad - it could have been a great one.
Rare Exports (2010)
very bizarre
Don't waste your time with this one. A tale of a child torturing Santa. Explict male nudity.
Midnight Special (2016)
too many unanswered questions
Thought it was a great movie until it ended without completing the story. What was the purpose of the boy being in this world? How did his two normal parents give birth to boy with odd powers from another world? What was the purpose of the boy's powers? What was this other world all about?
If the writers expected us to complete their incomplete story, that fell flat with me. The acting was great, the suspense was constant, but the ending was a disappointment. I expected the movie to pull things together and make sense. It didn't.
