Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part V (2022)
Nostalgia is great, but...what about the future?
I initially loved this episode, but after the high of the flashback wore off, I realized I only liked this episode because of the flashback. I liked this episode because it used a framing device that was based off of George Lucas's work. It just makes me sad seeing what Star Wars has become under Disney. I don't know why George Lucas sold Star Wars and I don't think any of us will ever know the true reason; we can only make guesses but at this point, I feel that it was punishment for all the hate the prequels must have gotten. It's a slow death. The nostalgia's great Disney, but what will you do in the future? You cannot rely on the Skywalker saga forever.
And...as for the big reveal with Reva...was I supposed to sympathize with her? I felt disgusted. You lost your friends to Vader so I can understand your thirst for revenge. I can understand why you would want to kill him but you do so by joining the same empire which has been....killing Jedi. You joined an entity that has and is carrying out atrocities against folks who were your family growing up and you are taking part in said atrocities instead of joining the rebellion with other survivors to take down vader and palpatine. As for wanting to get close to Vader, ok, you have barely any training in the force and lightsaber wielding judging by those big ass helmets you all lug around and you think you can take down the Chosen One? I'm having a difficult time telling whether this is poor writing or her character is just that delusional or both.

"Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to suffering"
I was as fearful as I was excited when I heard that this series was coming out because I knew the type of content Disney is accustomed to putting out. And then I was angry after watching this most recent "episode," (bruh, what is 30 minutes??) and now I am just headed straight to suffering. I feel no joy seeing people tear this episode apart; it's about as tragic as the fall of Anakin Skywalker. There was just SO MUCH potential. And now you all are talking about making a Reva spinoff, which tells me that this show was never about Kenobi. Dude was just a device to introduce Reva. You turned a Star Wars LEGEND into a device to shoehorn someone else in. I have no other words.
