A little rocambolesque would be the French term of this movie, which has a great one liner comment on French politicians, and some funny moment .. One need to accept to leave his logic at home to fully enjoyed this movie...the storyline is a little impossible..but the pointy they make is valid... Especially if one compare it to the Donald snow in this presidential USA campaign...it make this movie more believable....ah the effect of the Donald ....never boring for sure ...like him this movie seems to be an alternate reality...the French.media also get exposed for their bent much like in the show Succession.

I do not know why neither the screenplay writer nor the director did not realized that the main character was saying one thing but in the same scene was doing everything contrary to what he said he wanted to do...plus the time line make no sense...in 48 hours after the death of his father in a grocery store in canada, he is told by the French police, jump on a plane, to take care of things because his already has the autopsie report, the death certificate, a real estate agent and a charity agent are already at the house...to evaluate and clear the furnitures...no scenes flow into the next one ...on my the before last scenes is good.

The Boys in the boat is very good, well done because knowing how it is going to end before the movie start...could have made this film predictable ...but because of the setting, depression in the Pacific Northwest & because of the two lead actors...one is a rower, the other the coach, their presence on the screen is so magnetic that you want to know more of their story. The camera work is so good has to make you feel that you are on the water. No wonder the book regain popularity

Un très bon et beau film...on sort du cinéma avec une impression d'avoir vu ...presque vécu quelque chose pas juste avoir été diverti.

Not been a musical fan...why did I go see it? Well because the first preview I saw did not make me think of it as a musical.... I was agreeably surprise ..lit was just the right mix for me to enjoy...I understand why the lead got the part without auditioning, with just posted amateur video of himself...he fit the bill... The story is so well done that one pass over the unbelievable parts...and just enjoy the imaginary scenery ...Hugh Grant is very good in that role.

Like it enough to agree to go see it again tomorrow with a friend ..this time translated in French...Will see if I like it as.much.

For fully appreciate this movie, it help to be a fan of the work of the painter ...as one understand more what was the motivation behind his choices , and why his works were so controversial yet so good...the Catholic Church at the time was the Church, the only one yet the rise of what would become the Protestant churches were making the Vatican nervous.

The conflict between the reality of life of the average people and the grandiose representation of the saints ...had no much income ...

Knowledge of some of the work of Caravaggio help understanding lots of scenes in this movie ...and what makes his work so good is what was no conceivable at the time...that you could use the face of common daily people to personified a saint , an angel ..which of my God of the time had no gender, no sex...

The Holdovers ...is not a comedy, more a Bittersweet drama...set in a New England college during the Xmas break in 1970-71... We fet to know and like our 3 mains characters ...each having stop liking life, like people, going threw the motion of interacting with others their deception, their hidden pain preventing them from moving forward...this typical film of redemption ...we get to like them, feel sorry for their pain, and they find thanks to there interaction their redemption...the college used for the filming is gorgeous. The acting is good by the main characters...

An excellent 6 parts serie as much about music then about a suspense, a thriller, with a great twist, the acting is great, the scenery are very interesting...many shot of the newest Philharmonic hall of Paris in the park La Villette, the lead actress is a partenaire we la. Comedie Francaise but graduated first from a music program as a violinist...discovering theater and a stronger passion for it...the music is of course very good, but we learn what make a good piece even better sounding, the explanation are clear, simple. The suspense plot is very well done mixing police thriller with a little mystery going on horror almost.

This was my first Greek weeding movie of this now trilogy. It was entertaining. Predictable of course. Funny par moments. What a great cinematography, the view of the sceneries are wonderful, since the pandemic it became a way to revisit places that I have been. See the evolution, constructions, improvement or not...in this case what a difference with the view recently in the news with the wild fire in Greece. Movies like that have lots of moments of make believe ...this one was just nice amount. Happy ending guarantied. It makes me want to see the others 2...probably available = movies on demand.

That type of actions movie...the scenes are predictable so it is important to offer sometimes like in this case ...a black/white world ...where the villain are really bad & the rest are good even innocent...lots of blood ...but mostly after the kill the rhythm is good, the movie is actualy short 94 minutes. Denzel Washington is very good in this role, he succed in giving his character a redemption qualities. This film allow you to visit the mostly beautiful scenery...in southern Italy ...the only scene not so believable is the end in Naples...but only if you have been there ... I enjoyed myself.

Saw it last night...first what works : great camera shot ...make you feel like you are in a video game in real time...Yes based a real life story...but sometimes was not there to believable only character I could relate to was Harbour's...is it a combination of my age (61) & my not having ever driven a car ? Could be. I taught that the writers were thinking of young teenage boys who have not yet develop/ understood their emotions...very sappy, on yes the music was ahead of the emotions depicted in the scenes, so you knew exactly what would happen, suspense (3/10)...but also very entertaining entertainment.

It is funny by moments, serious by others, definitely whimsical, a little surreal...what a lovely movie...the alien thing is more a pretext to get us to think about getting old alone, for lost pleasure of companionship in seniors after the death of their life partner, by alone just of daty, day in & day out, they, we lose , are losing more & more connection with modern world reality, also about the difficulties of developing friendship when older, this a sweet movie with an pinch of bitterness...force you to see people around you and yourself , being 61 in a different light, threw a different prism.😊

This is not Magic Mike... that part of the story line is the pretext at this romantic Afroamerican comedy. The rhythm is good. No down time. Made my laugh out loud lots of times as much from the bad suggestive dance moves then from the flow of Afroamerican slang especially by women to describe sex, the male member or to insult one and other. Being a white single 60's French Canadian man... it seems to me that it was too much not to be stereotyping? But then again maybe not... As it was funny. And like it a good romantic comedy true love does blossom at the end... in a frenetic last scene. One scene toward the end seems to have needed more writing...

I enjoyed this type of super hero...which reminded me of the character Flash...or Shazam...has this super hero is chosen by an outsider and/or is hill equipped for the task at hand. He has to grow, to mature. It also reminded me of Mexican comic with the humour, the black or white ...super good or super evil... It plays also on the American misperceptions of the Mexican, & South American by extension, all the stereotypes are used. The rhythm is good, no down time. Of course the colour are very now neon pastel touch everywhere, the acting is good...done well with in the limit of the stereotyping ...nice little touch of an ode to the Terminator with the Nana.

In a funny way, this movie is exactly the type of movie that is talk about in Shortcoming... The main character is someone who does not accept himself with his bias...but also project on others this bias...he is unhappy and make everyone around him unhappy ...your typical guest to find happiness by discovering & accepting who were are...the thing that make this movie different is that the main characters are Asian...but also their acting which make it believable, some funny moments, some serious, some unreal, just like life itself. An other spectator used the term man\child which would also fit.

A very interesting movie about the back story behind the craziness of the Beanie plush toy ...I remember the beanie babies ...who crazy people where getting with them...it depict rather well how crazy the last part of the 80's, the 90's. The social trend of the day, the arrival of the WWW/internet. All this with a very good rhythm.

How this young woman daughter of immigrant saw that the net could be used to measure demand, increase sale etc she was year ahead of the rest. It also depict the founder of the Ty Toy Corp. How this man-child could manipulate people while maintaining his child like creativity. This emotionally abused man was generous only to outsider, to insider he was repeating the pattern he learn from his father.

Based on some of the truth behind the crave that was the beanie babies ...fetching price on the after market that parallel the tulip bulb in the Renaissance Holland...(the first but not the last case study of crazy speculation cause by imbalance between desirability & limited supply).

The choice of going back & forth could be an issue for some. But it does finally make a circle on itself.

Must say this was my first Mission Impossible on the big screen...lovely to be able to see and follow in my mind where they were in Rome, Venice etc ... The story line reminders me of the James Bond Tomorrow never dies but in much better, almost believable. How the villains are not just the really bad guys ...had to the double crossing.

The stun are fun to watch, some made me laugh because I enjoyed them so much. The actress Hayley Atwell is very well cast & very good in this role...could see her becoming the female lead in this franchise. I like this movie enough to be planning to see part two.

This is the best documentary I have seen in a long time...so well realized ...funny & quick tempo only added to the pleasure of meeting the supreme justice Rosalie Abella ...we see her whimsical side to must naturally compensate, balance her legal side ..

We meet people that work with her, live with her, that have got to know her a little ...but mostly we meet her ... Has she talk about she seen legal profession...lawyers & judges are there to put the human into the law...but humanity ..making the law evolve as society does ...sometimes forcing this evolution ... By bringing justice to discrimination ...she was one of the source in 1984 of the expression Systemic discrimination.

This movie surprised me because, like many I taught, I knew the story of the Blackberry. But, like what an amateur moviegoer wrote, this movie is so well made, and acted that it makes you relive this impossible dream that was the Blackberry. You learn why it was impossible ... And learn that the window of opportunities that Rim was exploiting, although still there, was moving away from them. Just like they had done with their products, moving the cell phone industry from selling minutes to a subscriber base, Apple products were moving the market towards all in experience & away from subscribers towards a data plan. The acting is perfect to make you feel the complex of emotions that this electronic engineer, who founded RIM, created the Blackberry must have been feeling under his geeky appearance.

What a Great Entertainment for Guy ...lots of actions, lots of guns, fighting, lots of tattoos not much adults emotions more teens like adult behaving, but treated with humour and successfully so very funny, unreal yet ...you forget yourself for the duration of the movie. The camera and editing are so well done that it make the movie better. Not knowing any thing about this stand-up comedian I was taken by the abilities of the screen writer and director...which were good enough to make me want to simply let the impossibilities of the story at the entrance of the movie theater...congratulations well done.

What a good surprise...this movie was so different from what I expected ...the preview I saw and the synopsis gave me the impression that his violent past was omnipresent ...not at all.

What a performance from the 3 main actors. Madame Weaver play a mean Grand southern lady with a twisted personality , miss Swindell play her conflicted character so well & mister Edgerton play his character softly with the inner strength of someone who is still dealing with his past but is not finish & needed a reason to make the final push.

Ce film n'était pas ce que j'avais perçu être, tellement meilleur, j'avais cru que son passé violent de supremacisme blanc allait être omniprésent ...pas du tout ...les 3 principaux acteurs sont excellents.

The movie thousand and One being a white single 60' white male from Canada ...this movie is as far removed from my life experience as it could. But the script, the directing & acting is so well done that I felt I understood their life, care about it. One phrase in the movie toward the end :"damage people do not know how to love" explain the story line so well. The ending was surprising. Explaining the psychic of the mother but also how emotional damage can be transmitted from generation to generation. The preview I saw gave me a totally different impression as to where the movie would be going. Made appreciated my white Canadian suburban life so much more.

Shazam and the fury of the gods

No being a fan of the genre...it was my first...thanks to the preview...the humorous side of then tickle my mind and luckily 2,5 weeks ago on TV they were showing the first Shazam, which help a lot understanding the story...the movie is a very good entertainment, funny, very good rhythm, all the scenes are quick...but like in every movies of the genre ....super hero have to go on a quest to become a better version of themselves...at least in this franchise...they are super power given adolescents...so their quest is a given. I enjoyed myself ...it was a very good two hours of entertainment.

A Netflix/BBc films product and it show...especially in the beginning and the ending...a thriller, a police thrillers, a crime thriller only works if it is believable. Did someone proof read the final screenplay? Some scene are lift from or reminiscence of Batman, Doctor Who, the Avengers & The Saint...all theses big scenes are great on their on..but had nothing to the movie, do no make this thriller more believable. I am starting to wonder if it is the Netflix touch that i do not like? ...this would be 3 Netflix movies release that found the same pattern of over doing it ... But as the same time over simplifying it so that you get lots of actions. My issues is with the end quality of the product...for entertainment value it is a 7, if we excluded the beginning and ending ...which count for only 1/3 of the 129 minutes ... Guess that is what Netflix is wanting ... ...entertain at all cost. The plot which had great potential is finally weak...because lots left unexplained or to simply explain...again to be believable.
