The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Four Minutes (2023)

Glorious
26 May 2023
I am assuming this was the final episode of what may very well be the best television ever made. I know that's a bold statement, but if the shoe fits.....Midge finally gets her shot on the Gordon Ford Show although not as she would have hoped. But, as the old saying goes "fortune favors the bold" Midge quickly turns the tables on Gordon and launches what we know will be a long and successful career. So Many, or should I say too many shows drop the ball when airing their final episode(s). Eg. Soprano's, Game of Thrones, Etc...Not so here. This show ends like all shows want to end by always leaving them wanting for more and in that regard this episode hits the bullseye. I feel like I just said goodbye to an old friend.

Awesome
10 May 2023
With these particular contestants, even though questions for players like these keep most of Americans in the dark as far as playing along. The interplay betwixt the contestants remains sharp and engaging. You can tell there is a healthy amount of mutual respect going on here and that is Kinda heartwarming and makes you wanna be smart enough to hang out in the green room with these guys and with "KJ" hosting makes this truly wonderful for any fan of Jeopardy. I don't write a lot of reviews on IMDB and I can not treally beleive I am writing one on Jeopardy, but this Version of jeopardy is the most "entertained" I've been for the show.

Bad Writing

Warning: Spoilers
Yeah I'm Darth Vadar and I want to kill OBi Wan so badly that after defeating him I should just throw some rocks on top of him to be sure he's done. Than after that brilliant idea falls apart and Ben Defeats Vadar he walks away from him again without killing him. While meanwhile the bloodthirsty third sister is hunting luke and fighting his aunt and uncle without killing or even hurting them....yeah that tracks.

Shameless Recruiting tool for teens
12 July 2012
This film, although having incredible production values, is a shameless attempt to glorify the United States Military and recruit youth. Kids will be disappointed when they enlist and aren't part of an elite Navy Seals team and it's a shame to think how they are going to feel when they don't actually do the stuff in this film. I was especially horrified at the number of times the action shots came in first person viewpoint and a lot of the action scenes actually felt like playing an FPS.I kept thinking I was going to hear "head shot 100 points" in the background from that all to familiar voice. This is an utterly disgraceful attempt to capture "the call of duty" crowd (teens). Perfect tactics perfect soldiers with perfect families it all ads up to a huge load of shite. If your into self-deluding yourself into thinking we are fighting the good fight against terror, By all means suck this film up. Personally, I found this film to be patronizing, emotionally hollow, pandering and a disgraceful piece of American propaganda. I am sure the US Armed forces are showing this right now to all their recruits.

A fine film
10 March 2008
I went into this film with no preconceptions about its nature. I was expecting a sort of bittersweet coming-of-age tale judging by the title alone. What i got was a gritty uncompromising tale of growing up in a drug infested section of Scotland. A very intelligent 15yr old youth is determined to reassemble his family upon the emanate return of his incarcerated Mother. He manages, with a certain tragic costs, to assimilate himself into the local crime gang and upon his mother's release from prison he is greeted with somewhat shocking repercussion's that lead to tragic consequences. The film rings true in every sense. We are treated to insights into lower-class Scottish society that maintain an authenticity that is hard to fake. All the performances are deftly handled and the script keeps you hanging on until the end. Overall, a very fine film.

Absolutely Brilliant
9 March 2008
This could very well have been the finest film made last year, French or otherwise. As you well know, it tells the story of troubled singer Edith Piaf. From her humble origins, to her rise as the "toast of France". Marion Cotillard's performance was a tour de force and she won a very well deserved Oscar for her effort. Taking it one further level, I am hard pressed to think of a better performance by any actress anywhere at any time. Sadly, This was my(and probably most Americans) first real exposure to this amazing actress and I see a lot of foreign films. Its French origins may scare away many American film goers, but those that choose to see it will be treated to an extraordinary film. I doubt a finer film was made in 2007 and how this film didn't get nominated for Best Foreign Film will be a perpetual mystery to me.
