Chowder (2007–2010)

I loved Chowder as a kid, it was all I wanted to talk about, I thought it was really funny even if I didn't understand like anything that was going on Decided to rewatch it last year and what did I think? It was pretty funny I guess.

While it didn't make me laugh as much as it used to, I did find a lot of it pretty funny and charming. The episode where they run put of money to pay for the animation is absolutely iconic and some of the other 4th wall jokes were good too.

My biggest gripe is that I found Chowder to be quite annoying at times, I've not always been a big fan of the "character being stupid= FUNNYYYY!!!" trope, but I don't absolutely hate him, Panini was also quite creepy and it's not very funny when she stalks/harasses Chowder and there a lot of scenes that made me physically cringe.

But asides from all that it's good, some really well animated scenes and I really like some of the characters

Overall solid show.

Mixels (2014–2016)

Not as good as I remember but not abysmal

I used to have a huge mixels hyperfixation in 2015-2016, I had almost all the toys and watched the cartoon everyday. I recently decided to rewatch it for nostalgia purposes and didn't really enjoy it as much as I used to, although that is understandable as I am obviously much older then when I was when I first watched it.

I didn't really laugh at the jokes as much, found some of the characters to be quite irritating and it felt kind of repetitive. Although I do think the newer, longer episodes were better and I feel like it could've become a genuinely good show if it wasn't cancelled so quick.

In short, I don't think it's at all a terrible show as I used to enjoy it so much, I'd say it's a pretty good if you have the right mindset for it. The toys are still good though.

Despicable Me (2010)

Genuinely one of my favourite animated movies

I used to love this movie when I was a kid but I generally didn't understand anything that was happening in it.

Rewatched in 2021 and have rewatched a lot since then.

I think this is a very heartwarming film. We watch Gru go from a guy who was neglected and mocked as a child, becoming a villain and a very unpleasant person to be around to a guy who now has 3 kids of his own, and in the future, a wife and a brother. The relationship between Gru and the three girls always melts my heart and I love how it develops throughout the movie.

My only downside is how overlooked the story is because of the minions, while I don't hate them they definitely aren't my favourite part of the movie and I wish people appreciated the actual story more.

While this movie isn't perfect it's definitely one of the best kids movies to come out in the last 15 years.

The Simpsons: Dude, Where's My Ranch? (2003)

Season 14, Episode 18

I like the first act of the episode where Homer writes a hate song about Flanders, I think it's a pretty catchy song and it has been stuck in my head for a while.

However the rest of the episode isn't really much to be honest. I think Homer and Bart's beaver plot was kind of funny, but the plot with Lisa and Luke was a bit bland, and it actually made me feel really angry when Lisa sent his sister off into the forest to die because she thought she was his girlfriend. I'm at least glad Lisa's acts didn't go unpunished as Luke was disgusted by her actions.

Also a continuity error when Lisa claims this was her first crush when we all know this is not true. But the Simpsons isn't known for having good continuity so it's easy to just brush this aside.

I also liked Moe's song at the end thought it was funny.

I think this episode isn't one of season 14's best but I did enjoy some of the jokes in it. Might rewatch it again some day (mostly just for the first act though)
