Not Quite Human (1987)
Filmed in Scottsdale, AZ....
One of a few movies filmed at Coronado High School in Scottsdale, AZ in the late 80's as well as Just One of the Guys, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Just Perfect (which was a segmented movie played during the Mickey Mouse Club.) Movie is definitely for kids as the previous comments have it pretty right on.
Coronado has gone through an overhaul in the past couple of years and many of the buildings seen in this film are now gone. The field where they are playing catch is adjacent to the football field, one of the few areas still there. The internal scenes near the lockers I believe were in the old 200 building.
Unless it is playing late at night on the Disney channel it may be a very hard to find flick. How they ever made sequels to this is beyond me.
Just Perfect (1990)
Filmed at Coronado HS...same HS as Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure...
This was filmed in Scottsdale at Coronado High School. The football game at the end was a match between a blend of Coronado's 1989 JV and Varsity teams. The practice scenes, game scenes and locker room scenes were all filmed in one day. The cheerleader outfits and uniforms are actually those of Coronado.
The background players in the locker room (actually Coronado's old basketball lockers) were some of the graduating football seniors. That entire building (which contained the locker rooms and the old gymnasium) was torn down in 2006 during the refurbishing of the school.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was filmed at this high school as well as the Alan Thicke/Jay Underwood/Robyn Lively film 'Not Quite Human' in the late 80's.
