Daikyojû Gappa (1967)
A childhood film I forgot about
I had this on vhs. And I kinda wish I still
Had that vhs. This film just takes me back to a young kid. I used to watch it religiously. And forget about it as I got older. Until my brother sent me a link. And I just had to watch it again. To be fair it is a 60s film out of Japan. But the sets and filming techniques are pretty good. I enjoy the destruction scenes which are plentiful. I wanted to say how awful a film it is watching now as an adult. But I just can't. The storyline is good. The sets are good. A day without computer graphics. Who doesn't like a film with proper sets and models. To think how long it took to make those sets. And the reunion of the parents and young gappa. I forgot how emotional that was. Kind of like when Willy jumped the breakwater for freedom in free Willy. How they teach their young to fly. Or am I just looking to much into it? I don't care. A childhood classic that brought me some childhood memories.

One sided
Mountain out of a Mill Hill. Did you know that in truth these people didn't storm anything. The doors where unlocked. This is so biased and one sided it's unbelievable. And as always to add to the drama there is always one cop who went to work early that day or a secret agent who took his gun with him to work that day or that secretary who had a bad feeling that day before anything even kicked off. As for trump it was nothing more then a presidential speech. Yet they made him out to
be this mob leading thug. They had a good opportunity here to make a good both sided
Documentary about this. That didn't happen. 1 star.
Britannic (2000)
Waste of an opportunity
For a low budget film I was surprised how good the sets and props are and the cgi isnt great but watchable however all this is ruined by the terrible and disrespectful storyline. Shoot outs on the bridge, shoot outs in the boiler rooms, and then the Townsend the terminator character who destroys a torpedo with his hand cannon a Lewis gun. Throughout the film the characters repeatedly say how brittanic is unsinkable. After titanic I don't think anyone would call a ship unsinkable anymore. They also got the sinking completely wrong. It sank fast but not as fast as in the film portrayed and also she stood on end for about 5 minutes once the bow had impacted the seabed. If your bored and want a laugh then give it a watch. But don't be getting your hopes up.
