Meteor Assault (2015)
Great "B" disaster movie
If the writer follows the disaster movie schematic you'll have a great "B" movie. It's no Annihilation Earth, but it keeps your attention till the very end, which is what these great "B" movies are supposed to do. If you are not a fan of this genre, why watch it and make negative comments? For those of us who enjoy these often silly, always implausible stories, it's great fun. Many have ridiculous special effects and that's what makes it fun. The unknown actors make it even more special because you are not distracted by a well-known face speaking inane dialogue. Just relax and enjoy the silliness.
Meteor: First Impact (2022)
So bad not even good
I love a good bad "B" disaster movie. They are so ridiculous they are funny. They follow the same silly formula. This movie didn't have a point or one good laugh. Not even bad science facts. Didn't care about any of the characters. Giving credit to a 10 year old is insulting to the 10 year old. I think a cat dancing on my keyboard could come up with something better. If we were to look at the quality of the movie itself: flashbacks weren't explained; meteor's weren't explained; relationships weren't explained. Lots of cursing which was basically dialogue filler. I love cursing but it has to be used for a reason. Bottom line-don't bother.
500 MPH Storm (2013)
Who cares?
No redeeming characters. Don't care if anyone lives. SPOILER ALERT: they leave the dog! No reason for that. I love B disaster movies but this is too bad to even be fun. The graphics were ridiculously amateurish. The "goofs" were insane. Did a blind person edit this movie?? I wonder if the petroleum industry sponsored this to make renewable energy look evil. I can't believe this got a higher rating then San Andreas Quake. If you have 1-1/2 hours I suggest you watch a Michael Moore documentary on the evils of oil/gas/coal, or even, dare I say it-read a book! I signed up on IMBD just to write a review of this movie.
