Trailer Park Boys (2001)
Very Humorous show
I want tot start off this review saying that I love all the humor in this show. All the s##t jokes and potty humor struck me in ways that I have never felt while watching a TV show. However, there were some aspects that made some seasons barely bearable to watch, as they felt like one 21-29 minute episode felt like an hour to watch. Other than that, some characters made the show unbearable to watch, which I think added more plot and diversity to the show. Overall, I would recommend this show to anyone who is mature enough to take in the language, atmosphere, and character development. Just watch out for the meh seasons.
Breaking Bad (2008)
An Absolutely Amazing Show
Breaking Bad is a show that starts off slow. However, it gets faster and better as the seasons progressed. The characters in the show were very well-written. The plot started slow but quickly took off. It was a very unpredictable show, and I loved the surprises around every corner that the show had to offer. Everyone had their acting moments, and the soundtrack was really good as well. Season 2 is when the plot starts to progress with the characters in the series. The end of Season 3 was a bit slow, but the ending of Season 4 was amazing. However, the best part of the show were the final 3 episodes. Ozymandias, Granite State, and Felina all were absolutely amazing episodes that wrapped up the show brilliantly. Easily one of the best cinematography creations of all time.
Shingeki no Kyojin (2013)
An Amazing Ride
I came into this show with high expectations. I heard great things about it, and I wanted to see if they were true. I have to say that they were very true. The story was incredible, the soundtrack was the best I have ever heard in my life, the fight scenes kept me on the edge of my seat, and the characters were surprisingly well-written. My personal favorite parts were the end of season 3, the start of season 4, and the beginning of the middle of season 4. I could not stop watching the show when I was at those points. Nothing was predictable, and I was addicted. I am hoping that the ending of the show, (March 2023, around a month after I am writing this), will be as amazing, because if it is, it deserves a place in the best TV shows ever.
Total Drama Island (2007)
Varies for seasons
This review is for seasons 1-6
Season 1: I find this season one of or the best season of this. Most of the characters were either mildly likeable or very likeable. The challenges were arguably the best, and it was the best season for comedy.
Season 2: Season 1 but different setup and less characters. In some ways, I like having less characters. The writing got a bit worse, but it was pretty good.
Season 3: This is where the quality goes down. In both ways. The characters got more annoying, and the songs were super hard to sit through. I skipped through most of them, though. The humor was non-existent, and it was the worst of the original cast.
Season 4: New cast of characters and new twist on the island. The concepts were pretty hit or miss, most of the characters were ok, but some were well-written in my opinion. Other than that, it was pretty mediocre.
Season 5: A breath of fresh air. The characters are from season 1, 3, and 4. The concepts were new, and it felt like season 1 all over again.
Season 6: The worst season by far. The characters were very annoying and poorly written. I also felt like the quality dropped down in bushels.
Overall it is a 7/10.
Inside Job (2021)
A comedic show with an amazing ending.
I actually watched this show before touching Rick and Morty. However, I feel that this show has made me want to watch Rick and Morty even more. From the well-written characters to the gag jokes, this show is great. The development of this show is big, and I love some of the characters and how they are acted. The voice acting fits and it was funny compared to other netflix shows I have watched. Overall, I had a really fun time watching the show. This is a breath of air compared to other dry netflix shows. Its cancellation was very sad to hear because I was getting excited for season 2. The ending made me feel feelings, and I can't wait for some platform like Adult Swim to revive this great show.
Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre (2023)
Boring and poor show
I found this show randomly on Netflix. The concept seemed amazing. Anime and horror are 2 things I do like. However, I was very disappointed. The animation is very poor and dry. It felt like it was lacking in terms of animation or horror. Lots of shorts will leave you on some sort of cliffhanger. The diversity of characters in this show was very low, and I feel that the plot in most of the shorts were lacking and almost not there. When I finished the final episode, I sighed with relief. I hope they get their act together and make some actual horror and not some bootleg show about teenagers complaining to their parents about their siblings. The concepts are amazing, but the execution was very poor. This show needs to get its act together or just stop.
Chainsaw Man (2022)
Full review of Season 1: This show lived up to the hype.
When this show came out, it blew up the internet. A lot of the notifications that I got were about this show. So, I decided to watch it, and I am very surprised that it was as good as people made it to be. The comedy was amazing in the first 5 episodes. It declined a little but still managed to retain the charm. I love the new world and the characters. This show can also be very sad and emotional at times. Not only do I have to give props to Studio MAPPA for animating this amazing show, but I also have to give appreciation for the singer who sung the theme song. That theme song is super catchy and one of my favorite parts the show. The visuals are stunning, and the characters are just as good. They all had their separate personality that was special, and the women were not being dragged by the men. They were independent and contributed majorly to the plot. Even the most shy girl on the show got her time to shine and show us that she was more than crying. To cap it all off, the voice acting is better than I thought it was. The voices for most characters are very fitting and can be silly at times. Overall, this show is really good, and I am waiting for season 2 to be released.
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
This show was better than I thought it was going to be.
There are many ups and downs in this show. However, I found most episodes enjoyable and easier to watch through. I loved the mesmerizing topics about space, science, and nature that this show presented. Overall, volume 1 was the best by a mile. Volume 1 had the best characters, storylines, and everything else. I would give volume 1 a 9/10 or a 10/10. However, I can't say the same about volume 2. I did like the concepts, just not as much as I liked volume 1's concepts. The show sometimes felt dry, and it was the most tame out of all of them. There would only be a couple episodes I would recommend. Volume 2 gets a 6/10 or a 7/10. On the other hand, they made a comeback with volume 3. Volume 3 was a breath of fresh air from volume 2, and I loved the concepts. It was tame, but not as tame as volume 2 and not as exposed as volume 1. The episodes were more intriguing to watch, and volume 3 gets a 8/10. If this show is getting a new volume, I hope they keep up the comeback because this show could go the mile.
