With a few minor changes it could have been 10x better
This movie just feels so hollow. Nothing makes sense. There's an evil security system that creates paranormal beings in your house then turns you into one? Or something? But also the girl being haunted has PTSD and the security system is displaying the exact visions she'd have?
Nothing makes sense. There's a part where it seems like things are going to be explained, but they aren't. They could have made a real movie and had the main character do actual research (not the 5 minutes of "research" she does which is a single google search) and have things come together and be explained. Or they could have portrayed a woman going insane because of PTSD, with none of her visions being real. Either way would have made a much more interesting movie.
Instead you get a very bland and predictable plot that makes no logical sense. It's very flat, pretty much one long sequence of "slightly weird things happening" then one trying to be tense scene at the end.
I guess okay background noise.
Held (2020)
Fine but not great
The plot twist was interesting I guess and it made the story, but I saw it coming from a mile away. I soon as the husband "found out" she was cheating, I could easily guess what the plot twist was gonna be. So there was no "wow" moment or whatever when it was revealed.
Generally movies are just pretty weak when you're rooting for no one. At the final scenes I didn't care who died because both main characters are bad people. They tried to paint the wife as the "good guy" but I zero reason to like her. So her getting out in the end and surviving wasn't exactly exciting.
Decent build up, disappointing ending.
Centigrade (2020)
Dumb characters, plot holes, and lies about being a true story
Tldr: HOW CAN YOU BE SO DUMB.
The female character is so stupid in so many ways. She doesn't bother to put the cap on water when she knows they have limited supplies. She has phone service but wastes all her phone battery crying to her Dad, not calling 911 or giving him any details about where they are. And they're BOTH stupid for never trying the Sun roof. You can see clearly in multiple scenes that it would have been easy to just climb out of. But it's never even addressed as a possibility.
Many overlooked details that don't make sense-
1. They somehow have plenty of oxygen the whole time. There's 2 people (plus eventually a baby) in a tiny car who keep burning candles with no airflow, but somehow they never have a problem with excess CO2? Did the creators of this movie ever take a 9th grade science class?
2. Why couldn't they just turn on the car and roll down the windows? Or turn it on the warm up the snow then drive out? It's never addressed why the car won't run at all.
Among others, those are the big ones.
But my biggest problem with this movie, ITS NOT A TRUE STORY. They claim it is, but it's based off a bunch of random survival stories pieced together and is 90% fiction. The ending details are bs.
I LOVE these types of movies. People getting trapped, survival films, some of my favorite things to watch. I wanted to enjoy this. But the characters are frustratingly dumb and some plot holes just make no sense. 8/10 for the premise, I was excited to watch. But turned out not great because it doesn't add up.

Love it or hate it type film - I love it
There's just nothing like this movie. It's in it's own genre. Extremely unique and strange and weirdly disturbing. Truly one of a kind.
It's funny, pretty horrific, scary, disturbing, ironic. It kind of has everything. And pretty well done- acting isn't bad at all and the sfx makeup is impressive. The humor isn't for everyone, but if it's your type of humor it actually does have some good laughs, and it's certainly a horror movie. One of those few films that does "horror/comedy" right, and hits the mark for both genres.
I know a lot of people wouldn't enjoy this just because it's so out there. But I'd unironically call this one of my favorite movies- definitely makes my top 10. Wild entertaining ride that might keep you up and night. 9/10.
A Darker Reality (2008)
Other reviewers don't know what they're talking about
Honestly a great film. Just not for everyone.
This isn't for regular horror fans, it's definitely a certain kind of f**led up and is in its own sub genre. Don't watch if you're expecting a saw film level movie, but if you like actual gore/snuff films and are an indie fan this could be great for you. It's just not aimed at the general public.
It's made very well. Well acted, makeup/sfx is amazing, directed good, doesn't really feel "low budget" in that way. And it isn't just straight torture p*rn, it actually had a decent plot.
Interesting unique characters with a story line as well as the "shock" content and torture. Nice 50/50 balance of both.
Criminally underrated. Would recommend to anyone who likes indie horror or gore/shock movies. Will keep you watching for sure.
Margaux (2022)
Had potential to be good but turned out super cheesy
The premise isn't necessarily anything special but this definitely had potential to be a decent horror film, or at least a movie with good gore or interesting kills. The first scene looked good and made me want to continue watching.
But the beginning drags on, and after finally picky up it pretty quickly becomes cheesy and cheap feeling. Take out some of the drug references and it would feel like a Disney channel special for kids.
There's the classic "smart person hacks the system" and a ton of overdone, horribly cheesy dialogue. Completely overriding the entire house feels way too easily done and doesn't make much sense.
It seriously feels like some kids spy movie that they slapped an unhappy ending on. Should have made it more serious and had more interesting deaths, then it wouldn't be amazing but would at least make a solid horror flick that's watchable without rolling your eyes.
