Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004)
Cheesily good
I must admit i am a HUGE fan of movies that are entertaininly cheesy. THey never take themselves too seriously and they are a good way to relax for an hour or two and be entertained. And with only a few exceptions this movie did that. The cast of incredibly good looking people for the most part did a good job with what they were given. I especially liked Sam (Kadee Strickland)who could have easily become annoying. The character of Cole is a black mark on this movie though. He Was annoying to the point you were praying for the snakes to eat him. And i kinda wished the snakes would have been done better and that they're would have been more of them. but overall it was a good cheesy movie 3/5
The Snow Walker (2003)
Beautiful Film
I just finished watching this film and it was absoloutly gorgeous. The vastness and emptiness of the arctic tundra is so foreign in this day and age of big cities and suburbs, it was just refreshing to watch. Barry Pepper has never been a good actor in my mind, but this film shows his real potential, he made the character of Charlie a believable one, and the change he experiences didn't come off as clichéd like in so many other movies. The young Inuit girl who played Kanalaaq(sp) was so impressive, more so when you learn she can do many of the things her character in the film did!!! She is very beautiful and talented and i can't wait to see where this takes her!
The directing is very good as well. The idea to use as little music as possible adds to the feeling of isolation and barreness of the arctic, and the shots of the sky especially the Northern Lights were gorgeous!!
All in all i loved this film ***/5
Black Hawk Down (2001)
I loved the movie!
Black Hawk down is definatley my all time favourite movie. i have seen it twice already. I like the fact director Ridley Scott didn't waste a lot of time on character development he just gave you the basics and then right into the action. As a fan of the book before the movie i was very excited to see the movie and i wasn't dissapointed. The movie really helps you understand that the majority of these men were under 24 yet they were smack dab in the middle of a bloody war. THis movie really made you want to cry for these men and really showed the confusion and chaos they went through, well as well as you can show in a movie. All in all Black Hawk Down is the best movie ever. 10 out of 10.
