Split (2016)
HOW is this a sequel to "Unbreakable"? It's not.
Thus said. I've seen both movies within a short amount of time of each other and I don't see how this can be described as a sequel to "Unbreakable".
Saturday Night Live: James McAvoy/Meek Mill (2019)
Last week's show a fluke?!? YES!
SO sorry to those of us who thought that last week's episode was a sort-of return to the actually funny shows of the 00's or before...
This show was not only a waste of talent of the brilliant host, but a continuation of bad-to-mediocre repeat skits that have reeked since they were introduced about five years ago.
Add to that an overload of rap-crap from not only the lame "musical" guest, but from a couple of crap skits that contained the same, and you get yet more of Lorne's attempt to keep up with the "negrofication" of America...
Final count: just TWO funny skits--the Scottish air traffic controller and the Superbowl party with the feuding brothers.
Someone commented last week that because that show was so funny, Lorne must have been on vacation. I'm thinking just now that that may have been true...
Saturday Night Live: Rachel Brosnahan/Greta Van Fleet (2019)
WOW! After about ten years, an episode that was actually hilarious?
I've no clue who the hostess is, but she was pretty good.
No matter, because the writing here has gone back to the 00's. Well written sketches that are actually funny and non-politically correct as well as not being all liberally sided...
That said, the musical guest, while clearly talented, seemed like a joke. They were like a parody band. They should rename themselves "Yid Zeppelin"...
Saturday Night Live: James Franco/SZA (2017)
WOW! SNL might just have hired talented writers for the first time since the early 00's...
I have waited patiently for about the past ten years for a show with this much consistently funny material. I even laughed once during Weekend Update, which hasn't happened since neutral Morman-boy and unfunny Negrito first appeared...
Most satisfying was the brilliantly written sketch about millennial idiots who are too lazy to spell or speak certain words such as "pizza"! The "za" and "suh" argument was dead on!
The Children (2008)
Poorly-edited shite horror movie
Bad exploitation of adorable, talented child actors, done with editing so confusing and abrupt you'd need a Blu-Ray player with split-second stop-freeze ability to decipher what happens during over half of the "gory" scenes. If I'd seen this in a proper cinema, I'd have demanded my money back. It's also telling that the cast of children out-acted the adult cast... No plot, rhyme, nor reason. Just a hash above a run-of-the-mill slasher movie. Seems like it could be a remake, but it's not. The development of the characters all seem to have come out of a prequel and the feeling of the opening scene is that we should already know them as well as their relationship to each other. I couldn't believe this was only an 80-minute film. At 60 minutes it felt like 90 already.
