Beautiful Thing (1996)
My favorite movie
"Beautiful Thing" is defined one of my favorite movies. I've already seen this movie twice in a week and I most definitely will be watching it more. This movie focuses on the struggles that some people have to go through and what it's like to be in these peoples positions. I enjoyed the people in this film, and I think that Jamie was probably one of my favorites just because he seems like a complex person but he's also super relatable and authentic. Leah was also one of my favorites because of her sass every time she talked and she was pretty funny. I think one of my favorite parts in "Beautiful Thing" would have to be the ending where Jamie and Ste are dancing and then Sandra is just watching everyone that is standing around Jamie and Ste, as to make sure that people are not judging them, and then Leah and Sandra come down to dance with them and it was just a really cute scene.
The Dreamers (2003)
Good movie
"The Dreamers" was an extraordinary movie. This movie did not seem like a movie when you watch it, it seems like a piece of artwork that you are just staring at and making a story out of it. It was a really different movie and I felt as if it was try to be a little more out there than a lot of other movies, and it definitely did that. You don't really seem many movies like this today, I admit that some parts of the movie seemed a little strange, but despite that it is a great movie and it didn't seem like it was afraid to do something different unlike a lot of other movies that are produced today. I think my favorite character was probably Isabelle, just because she has lots of personality which makes the movie a lot more fun and entertaining to watch. I also liked Matthew because he seemed confused the entire movie but in a charming way.
I Believe in Unicorns (2014)
Amazing Movie
"I Believe in Unicorns" was an outstanding movie. It had elements to it that helped to make it the movie that it is. I thought that the way it was filmed and how cut to different parts was really neat, and you sort of in a way had to put the movie together like a puzzle which I liked. I also really liked the soundtrack of "I believe in Unicorns," it matched the vibe of the movie perfectly and even added to the plot at times. "I believe in Unicorns" was quiet but the quietness of the movie helps create the perfect atmosphere and it too helps to tell a story all without even saying much. I really liked this movie and it's definitely one of my favorites.
Latter Days (2003)
Great Movie
I thought that this movie was a cute movie and a great representation of the lgbtq experience. The characters in this movie all had such great chemistry which helped to make it seem very realistic, and like these people were just casually having a conversation in real life. The acting was on point, the filming, and the soundtrack. "Latter Days" really helps to show the bad parts of the lgbtq experience, like how Elder Davis is seen as a horrible person by everyone for just being who he really is, his own father wasn't even able to look at him all because of the people that Elder Davis likes. So i'm sure that a lot of people can also relate to this film, and maybe it could help them realize that they are not alone. Overall a great movie with a very realistic feel to it.
Shelter (2007)
Very well done movie
I really liked "Shelter." The characters felt so real, and the whole movie just felt a lot more authentic than other movies. The way this movie was shot helps you to understand the struggles of what Zach is going through and what it's really like to be in a position like his. "Shelter" is a very charming and fun movie, but it also evokes different emotions like distress, and it makes you feel sympathetic for Zach. I think that the acting could have been a little bit better at some parts of the movie but it also kind of adds to the movie and it fits in with the vibe and style of "Shelter." This was a super likable movie with really likable characters, definitely one of my favs and I would watch it again.
Call Me by Your Name (2017)
Good movie but not my kind of movie
I think that "Call me by your name" was a well done movie but it just wasn't my kind of movie and I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I can totally understand how people enjoy this movie and are impacted by it. The things that I like about this movie were the cinematography and soundtrack which were both amazing. The soundtrack fit the movie perfectly and it added to the overall vibe of the movie which I really liked, and the cinematography was outstanding I liked how some scenes went on for a while and the way that the movie was recorded in general. I think that the main reason to why I didn't enjoy this movie was because of the story. The story wasn't super bad or anything but it just felt sort of slow in a way, and I like when the story in movies is slow but it has to be a different way than it was in this movie. Overall, "Call me by your name" was definitely a great movie it just wasn't my thing.
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
One of my favorite movies
This movie was so amazing. Jack and Ennis had such great chemistry all throughout the movie. The movie made you feel so many different emotions, happy, sad, confused, happy and sad. The cinematography was amazing and very consistent in its greatness throughout the whole movie. The soundtrack of this movie was remarkable and one of the best i've ever seen. This movie is an amazing representation of the lgbtq experience and it helps to show all the struggles that people of this community have to go through. The movie felt so real and you can understand Jack and Ennis really well throughout all their interactions and even in the smaller details. Definitely one of my favorite movies.
