Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye (2002)
Inspirational and educational
Love the show. Enjoyed the fact that it's based off a real person. The lead is played by an actual deaf person who can lip read, sign and speak.
The fact that the show included actual deaf person to play deaf characters made was really nice. Appreciated the fact that the cast learned sign to help communicate with the female lead. (Most of the signing was fingerspelling for certain acronyms and words that the lead couldn't either lip-read correctly or understand because of the term). I appreciated the fact that some episodes involved cases that the lead specifically was assigned to owing to the fact that she is deaf.
Show provided a new perspective on solving cases (lip reading). I watch shows that are creative, innovative in terms of story telling, and have very little relationship drama (if they do, it's done tastefully and not dramatically).
Rescue Me (2016)
Interesting but somewhat unrealistic concept
Interesting storyline. Somewhat farfetched/unrealistic but pretty cool compared. Parts of it were predictable. Found some parts to be funny even though I predicted some of the scenes.
The overall concept was great. One of few movies that I've seen that didn't require me to skip any part because it either got boring or too cheesy for me to watch.
The title was what made me not want to watch it initially. Glad I looked up the plot line to learn what it was about. I did have to rewatch some scenes because they went by too quickly, causing me to miss some details and be a bit confused as to what was going on.
Reluctant Nanny (2015)
Amazing wholesome movie
Loved the movie. I've seen several movies kind of like this and had a rough idea of what the plot might be like (at least the general idea). Wholesome, fun and entertaining.
Really enjoyed the fact that the characters could connect to each other throughout the movie. The ending was cute and the way it ended was a bit unexpected. For someone who usually is pretty good at predicting parts of a film, I thought that the ending was somewhat unexpected in terms of how things would play out.
Without including spoilers, this movie had aspects of several different movies that I've seen before that have similar plot/story lines.
The Wedding Veil (2022)
Great movie, distracting accent
Love the movie. Chemistry between the leads were great, very natural. I did find the male lead's ever-changing accent a little distracting at times. The movie was great overall.
I was a bit skeptical to watch the movie, thinking it was supposed to be an actual series that continues on to other movies, focusing on the main characters, but it won't. Instead the focus is on an object.
It does follow the typical Hallmark story line; however, the characters and lessons to be learned are great. Some scenes can be predictable, but then again, that's called "traditional Hallmark movie" (my own quote) mixed in with general plot lines for anything with a storyline.
