Hooray for Everything (2005)
This Killed at the Beverly Hills Film Festival
With better direction and higher production values, this would be an amazing short film. The acting was spot on, the characters were hilarious, and the crowd when I saw a screening at the BHFF roared.
I would like to see this cast do a feature (with a different director and a bigger budget, of course).
The film's plot as presented in the short might not be re-workable into a feature, but I would not mind seeing a totally different film starring this troupe.
Sort of how Broken Lizard's first short "Tinfoil Monkey Agenda" had nothing to do with their features "Puddle Cruiser" or "Super Troopers," I would love this bunch of actors to tackle a full length story.
What I want is for them to stay with the Mockumentary style -- I want more Spinal Tap-style films but with a younger cast. Anf for those who say, just turn to Christopher Guest's films, I say that some people are a little tired of that same cast. We miss the energy and zest of Parker Posey.
Hooray For Everything has it. The group's inter-dynamic is great.
Also, I understand that the cast performs in New York City. Has anyone seen the Hooray For Everything Improv show?
