Indian Filmmaking is coming of age !!
16 September 2023
Just as with various other fields, Indian filmmakers and actors are also becoming ambitious and growing in storytelling, performances and production values.

This series shows we have the skills and talent but at the same time also shows the stigmas in our society which is preventing us from walking shoulder to shoulder with the World.

Acting - 5 stars (amazed at how so much realistic performance was extracted all around... even from children) Casting - 5 stars Production Design - 5 stars Direction - 4 stars Story - 5 stars

After long time, I have binge watched an Indian web series after Mirzapur.

Highly recommended !!

A Different League !!
15 December 2007
I normally avoid writing comments until the movie is really great. This is one of those movies which inspire you to share your fulfilling experience with others.

Without doubt, this is one of the best storyline and the acting is spot on. I mean, all characters were so real and identifiable that you could not wonder but imagine a life-like narration going on. I got totally sucked into the movie towards 15 minutes from the start. I have seen Edward Norton deliver the goods before and I had no doubt in my mind that he will not disappoint. But here, he is in a league of a different kind. I really admire his role selection and execution. He has that boyish looks but nonetheless, he is able to fit himself in a wide variety of roles so easily. I look forward to see more of him in such engaging roles.

Other then that, the director had devoted considerable footage in developing the other supporting characters as well. This is really great. As one of the comments said, "it doesn't work when you deviate from the main characters to focus on the supporting characters". But here, Seymour and Barry's character development is so effective as they are the only friends Edward have and there feelings for Edward basically defines his character.

Rosario (Men in Black) and Anna (X-Men) were excellently cast as Edward's love interest and Philip's teen student. They both were young with interests in older men in their life and they delivered quite effectively.

Brian Cox as Edward's Father was very real and his repent towards the end for being responsible for what became of Edward was also beautifully portrayed.

I appreciate the film at all levels and suggest strongly to watch this alone in your quiet time. This will definitely help you to appreciate Life.

My Score: 9 out of 10

Inspiring
25 November 2007
Recently saw this movie out of killing time and I really bargained more then that......

This movie reminds us that nothing is perfect in this world and relationships should be nurtured as they form the basis of your existence.... It also gives this strong message that it is never too late to realize your mistakes in relationships and there is always time to mend things gone wrong, because at the core of it, we all are big kids doing silly mistakes all the time... I think I would really look at things around me in a different manner and try to respect the opposite perspective in a more rationalized way...

Do watch this as more then just a movie.....

Engrossing and a Feel-good movie
25 November 2007
Just had the chance to view this movie and writing my first hand review.

The movie was engrossing from start to finish. Ann Hathway was her usual self... a lost beauty who slowly develops into an enchanting strengthened character through the middle of the movie. And Meryl Streep....well she was awesome, radiating authority throughout giving the movie the color it needed. To be true, I was really looking forward to get a hint of her weaker side, some transformation of her character, courtesy Ann Hathway.... but it was none and that is the biggest positives and realism of this movie. Her powerful portrayal of a fashion mogul, undaunted by private and professional circumstances around her, really deserved an Oscar nomination.

All other characters did their part well..... You come out with a feeling of fulfillingness and with a want to change your life for yourself and for the people who matter.....

Go watch this movie......
