Had this not been called "Black Christmas" I think it may have been better received. I'm not sure what to expect from a reboot of one of the earliest slasher films, now a cult classic, but this is not it.

What I would expect from a reboot of one of the earliest slasher films, now a cult classic, is some delicate handling of the fact that this is a reboot of one of the earliest slasher films, now a cult classic. This is not that either.

Anyway, leaving that aside, it's not terrible! I love BH films and this one keeps my attention and provides an enjoyable experience akin to other poorly reviewed but not terrible BH films, most notably Fantasy Island which I also liked, but did not consider to be a reboot of Fantasy Island in the way most people would expect.

After watching all popular British crime dramas on Prime I stumbled on this gem and was immediately intrigued and entertained by it. Just finished Season 1, and will now continue living a decadent and adventurous lifestyle in Italy, vicariously, through this amazing cast and production. I feel like if I watch enough of it, I may speak fluent Italian when it's over. Grazie Manara!
