The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch (2020)
Time I won't get back. Total, utter garbage
The Curse of Skinwalker Ranch is currently being rammed down our throats by ongoing previous. This series a massive waste of time and Skinwalker Ranch itself is nothing more than a publicity scam. The voice of the redneck hillbilly, Travis Taylor really grates on you and is a constant irritant. Taylor's cringingly corny over acting is equally highly annoying as he behaves like an overexcited child over something that only 'he' can apparently see. The audience is expected to empathise with Taylor's immature excitable behavior.
Over the years there has been a lot of publicity over alleged paranormal activity on Skinwalker Ranch. However, publicity is 'all' it is, nothing more. It is unfortunate that former Coast-to-Coast AM, George Knapp involved himself in this fraud, but he was trying to sell a book, based on his own alleged experiences. It's a shame he never brough a camera or any other recording equipment to document any so-called evidence.
The Witcher (2019)
Inconsistencies throughout. It is devoid of any narrative
Absolutely awful. If you find yourself losing track, it's because it simply doesn't stay on track. One minute a character is dead, then in the next episode, they're alive and well again. For example, in the first episodes of S1, the Lion Queen, her armies and kingdom were slaughtered and laid to waste, with the queen herself laying dead on the street. Her loyal subject Mousesack is taken hostage, tortured and brutally murdered. Then in episode 6, the queen is suddenly alive and well again, her kingdom thriving and Mousesack is back at her side. At this point I found myself scratching my head, wondering if the script writers actually put page numbers at the bottom of each page.
Bancroft (2017)
Should have stopped while the going was good
I was really enjoying Bancroft up until the point when she was promoted following her murder of the young Detective Catherine. Like most viewers, I only hung to see Bancroft get her comeuppance. Unfortunately this failed to materialise and it went off in completely different direction without any resolution. Very disappointed.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
The most awful acting ever
It's such a shame that the makers of this awful movie didn't invest as much of the big budget on acting rather than entirely on special effects. The producers clearly abandoned the acting, sacrificing what could have been a decent movie. The so-called 'actors' must have been desperate and willing to accept a minimum fee since even children in a school play could act better. The most amazing aspect is that the producers had the audacity to make a follow up movie. As someone with a university degree in Film and Media, this and its sequels are without a doubt the "worst" movies I have ever seen. Save yourself the frustration of wasting time you'll never get back.
The Innkeepers (2011)
BOREDOM ALERT: This is NOT a horror movie
There is one thing that this movie will guarantee, "You may fall asleep halfway through with boredom and waiting for something to happen". It doesn't until the end when such a mundane existence leads to a slight mental breakdown, and that's it. The whole movie consists of just two slackers telling ghost stories to relieve their boredom, and there are an odd couple of creepy old people thrown in a pathetic attempt to revive interest. Yawn :( The moral of this movie is 'idle hands are the devil's workshop'. In other words, it's a tale of what results from idle boredom. For some bizarre reason someone assigned this garbage to the 'horror' genre. If it must be accredited to any genre, then just throw it into suspense, since you spend most of the movie waiting.
One Day (2011)
Beautiful and uplifting
Great story which I think epitomizes the term 'Soul mate'. While the leading male character pursues his life searching for his destiny, he fails to realise it has been right in front of his eyes since his graduation in the late 1980's.
Both performances from the lead characters was a sheer pleasure to watch and holds the attention all the way through. I didn't know Anne Hathaway was actually an American actress until researching the film afterwards, which makes her performance that much more incredible. Jim Sturgess and I graduated from the same university on the same course of study.
One of my favourite movies.
Most Haunted (2002)
Not what it seems
Most Haunted has not only been revealed as a 'Fraud' due the exposing of Derek Acora. Whenever she appears on celebrity shows, Yvette Fielding often mocks how easy it is to dupe people. She makes no secret of the fact that "Most Haunted" is a huge scam. On one occasion during such a show, she was asked if she had ever personally experienced any paranormal encounters at home? She explained that one of her personal encounters occurred in her kitchen, describing how all the chairs around the dining room table were pushed in under the table. However, when she had her back turned, then turned around, all the chairs were sitting on top of the table. She had obviously been describing a scene from the classic film, Poltergeist. When Derek Acora was exposed as a fraud, the credibility of the entire show was also exposed by one of its leading participants, who is a Psychologist for the show. He pulled out of Most Haunted, due to a guilty conscience and deceiving the viewers. In the celebrity editions of the show, celebrities had to agree to keep quiet as part of their contract. You can also plainly see that the participants of the show are bad actors. It is due to scams from the likes of Yvette Fielding and her husband Karl, that other alternative genuine Ghost Hunting shows lose their credibility. Fielding and her husband, Karl are arrogantly profiting from deceit.
