Lie with Me (2005)
Lie with me
25 July 2012
Whilst I understand the thrill this film may have on some people, Its really an observational & revealing documentary. Western ideals have been laid bear without compunction. It shows how self gratification not only harms individuals but harms society in an aggressive manner. It all ties in with narrow minded consumerism consuming people, that's fine if it was not for the fact about how much damage is done to fundamental reality. Crime, family break ups. relationships floundering within a short frame, values are weakened to the point of a complete breakdown of morals. You may ask why do we need morals? Its more fun to do as we please. Take a look around you, see the world in America. Europe, Fragmentation stares us all in the face & we feel helpless to stem the tide of discontent. Some quarters of the world see this moral downfall & want to stop it or protect their families, even countries see it as a decadent wasteland.

few spoilers

Warning: Spoilers
Un-believable is my summery. Sure some may enjoy it if you like unexpected moments & violence.

But one thing sticks out a mile, No communications? What troops would ever go into any jungle without a way to contact to the outside, or with each other. Crazy mistake.

Makes the film story flimsy and without credibility.

Why when the dogs attacked them did they not shoot the dogs? They had live ammunition according to there shots at the Cajuns.

credible story line would have made it a top film. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Shadowheart (2009)
the basics on shadowheart

I am not going to give the plot away. But this is one of the worse cowboy movies I ever encountered, Quite an insult to average intelligence. The plot is contrived and convoluted. far to much going on. Unbelievable performance by Angus Macfadyen ( will Tunney). I laughed at his joker type portrayal of the bad man. This was not a believable movie in the least.I guess some may like the violence and attempt at suspension. But come on really. I am not sure what the budget was for this film, but I think a high school art student could have cooked up a better storyline. As my father always said, If a films worth doing, then its worth doing well. This film did not live up to that notion whatsoever.

great !!

The viewer can draw so much from this film , nothing the writer or director has done that imposes there will upon us the viewers. Purely a work of true brilliance. No gratification in unnecessary violence has been used . No sex scenes that are out of place or there for the viewers satisfaction. It all ties in very neatly to lay bear a contemporary condition, a human condition, Especially in the western world.

A true testament to a strong story with great actors , mixed with sensitive direction that carry the film wholeheartedly without resorting to complicated gimmicks and animations or graphics.

The acting via Kate Winslet and all the leading characters is superb and I forgot completely they are actors [ that's must be there goal]

The use of camera and light adds to the story line completely and leads us all neatly into an unfolding fascinating story. One can only feel sorry for all the people involved in this heartfelt story. No one can blame , or have an ounce of pre judgment . Long may films like this be made.

far from an interesting film

I actually found this film to be very badly acted , and verging on the ridiculous. The unbounded taste for gratifying violence didn't add to the plot either. I suppose you could call it an action film with an oriental flavour, But even then was unconvincing. The thought that Vancouver had such violent Chinese and Japanese was quite a fright ( joke ) cars exploding and men dying by the bucket load in the main streets was enough to make me laugh out loud. When there is a water tight plot and convincing acting , violence can play a part. but over the top violence is a sure sign of lack of substance in the diologue, and this film lacked good diologue, twas crying out for a rewrite, Think I rather get my Chinese action from going to the takeaway on Saturday night. At least I would have something more tasty.
