Mum (2016)
What happened to British TV?
I haven't signed into IMDb in months and months, maybe even a year or more, but this show was so bad I felt I should watch people against it. I live on 70's 80's and 90's Brit coms and thought I would give something new a try. I wish I hadn't. The acting could not get worse. The script was appalling, the characters insipid. What on Earth happened to British TV that this could ever be acceptable??
Count Dracula (1977)
Excellent
I remember seeing this as a young girl of about 12...To me was the "real" Dracula story and could there ever be a better Dracula than Jourdan?...the looks, the accent...WOW...Not only a must see its a must own...!!!!
The Polar Express (2004)
Computer Animation...Enough already
Am I the ONLY person who is fed up with computer animation? From Toon Disney to Nick Jr. Now a beloved American classic. It's getting so my kids wont even know what a good cartoon looks like. Toy Story was OK but the joke's not funny anymore. $70 million I was told this movie cost. Sorry but I can't see where... The characters all look like Pinocchico Perhaps when they grow up they want to be real toons? After this scary looking movie I'm not taking the kids to see any more computer animated rubbish. It may be a small stand being just one family but its a start. From cheap ill-fitting clothes to sub-standard electronics America has to stop this decay in the quality for services and goods we are offered and that goes for this computer animated rubbish as well.
Stargate (1994)
Help.I cant stop watching this movie.!!
Don't know what it is about this film but I have seen it about 100 times now. Have gotten addicted. Help. Need intellectual stimulation. ...fading fast.. helpppp meeee. *** No really its not a bad film. Good special effects. good cast. Great story. But still over 100 times?? "It's good but it a"in"t THAT good. The unfortunate thing about it is its an awfully hard film to find 10 lines worth. Val Kilmer "I have nothing to live for so why not?" plot was good but left thing. Chicken man was weird. The whole IDEA though is awesome. Sure beats being made into spaghetti in a black/worm/hole thingy...Still no doubt I'll prolly watch it again tomorrow...helllpppp meeeee
The Illustrated Man (1969)
It WAS real
OK, too wild..I was about 7 when I saw this movie in the UK. I have thought over the years it was just an odd dream I had but there it was, on t.v. late one night. Totally freaked me out. Steiger is a major under rated actor to this generation. (umm it was 30 years ago I first saw the movie. You do the math) No wonder I thought it was a dream...a veratiable kalidascope of images. the kids with the lion. That house. It is well worth watching if only to see why you shouldn't do drugs. The 60's LSD influence is very strong here i think. All these years I was fascinated by tattoos and now I know why. Its the sort of film you never forget but cant clearly recall. There's no telling what it did to my subconscious.
Mission to Mars (2000)
Underrated...
It was an AWESOME movie!!! great cast brilliant acting .Ill admit.McConnel's eyeliner was a TAD heavy .What suits Jack Sparrow doesnt suit our hero in this movie .But the idea that we came from Mars was novel and I enjoyed the take .The computer graphics for the mars to earth evo story was amazing!!. It had everything a good movie needs and I'm not ashamed to say I loved it .but then I also gave "Stargate" a 10. lol. Still of all the Mars movies ( I think there were 4) this was by far the best. I was a little dismayed to find that I had to post 10 lines in my comment. I fear that will make for people having to post a lot of useless "fillers" and drivel before getting to post.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Absa bloody lutly brilliant
This has become one of my favorite movies ever. Not a Depp fan (hes usually to creepy) I find myself captivated with his antics and acceptance of bad luck. his English accent is downright excellent..specialy if he MEANT to sound half cut throughout most of the film. As for Bloom He is most definety an actor with a future...I wonder if Legolas is to Frodo what Han Solo turned out to be to Skywalker..(In other words Mark Who..??) And Miss Knightley what a beauty. A REAL beauty. And dear Jack Davenport after coupling how great to see him in a movie playing quite the opposite and still be excellent bravo Jack. (and twas nice to J Pryce on screen again after been gone a few years..something wicked this way comes is still a fave..:).This film still has my lmao even after a dozen re runs...my 4 and 6 year old kids love it my 15 y/o girl loves it even my hard to please hubby loved it...At last a movie for both sexes and all generations. Its a winner.:D
12 Angry Men (1957)
Heart Stopping
The suspense in this B/W one room movie is incredible I dont think there is a director today who could pull it off...no cast of millions no special computer effects or back rounds ..Not even a good story line to be honest. Just some amazing men and an incredible amount of talent...
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
Cult Sci Fi at its best
Amazing for its time, this difinitive cult SciFi movie is worth watching by any age group. The moral lesson can be taken or left but there is something so scary about it. pause for thought definatly and the robot even now with all the computer stuff that metal or silver spayed foam whatever still seems pretty darn sinister...
The Last Just Man (2002)
Cant find the words...
Having come across this unexpectly I was unprepeared for what I found..I can not imagine the horrors that took place in Rhwanda nor can I begin to appreciate what that amazing man went through...I cant not find the words to explain this..but if you get the chance you shoudl watch and judge for yourselves just how civilised WE are to have let this happen...
Count Dracula (1977)
Excellent

Merlin (1998)
Excellent
Finally found this on DVD well worth the search...Loved the actors in this and such amazing sets and effects...A great take on one of my favorite stories..(My poor son is named Pendragon)..Well worth watching if you havent seen it (dont let the 3 hour run time put you off)If you like magic and fantasy with a little Sam Neil thrown it is the perfect film for you
The Full Monty (1997)

Jack & Sarah (1995)
What a good movie
Completely unheard of this movie...Caught it on T.V...What a great movie...Excellent cast wonderful plot and heart warming acting...In these days of special effects and no heart movies it was a refreshing change...About the only movie I'd pay to go see ...And as an ex-pat the scenery was so good got home sick....If you get the chance to see take it is hard to find...Chick flick yes but still a great movie...
