Monk: Mr. Monk and the Astronaut (2006)
Monk meets Michael Weston...sort of
It's funny really as I make my way through season four of Monk, I was just thinking boy I wonder how many cool guest starts there will be between now, and the end of the series. Then up came Monk and the Astronaut, featuring Jeffery Donovan of course now so famous for his killer roll on Burn Notice. Spoiler city.. he did it..lol. It was great fun to watch the interplay between his self assured character, and Mr. Monk who is the complete opposite. Yet another well written episode. As another reviewer mentioned the end is a bit off, but the idea was great. Monk staring down a bad guy as brave as any man alive. weeee I'm off to watch me some Monk!
Monk: Mr. Monk Goes to a Fashion Show (2006)
Another Great Episode
For the last month I have been doing a massive Monk Marathon. In fact the first DVD season set for a series I ever bought was Monk Season 1. I was watching on USA until the end of season three. I quit watching then, and said "oh I'll buy the sets, but never seemed to. So thanks Netflix streaming I started at the beginning, and I'm up to this episode, and the show continues to maintain such a great standard of quality. From writing, to production, it remains one of the best series to be on TV. Spoiler Alert I love this series...lol What's really funny is recently I checked on IMDb to see what all of the cast has been up to, and saw where Emmy Clarke who played Natalie's daughter has grown up to be quite the looker. While watching this episode during the scene at the beach I thought boy if Emmy had been older she could have played one of the supermodels, and just then Malcolm Mcdowell starts taking pictures of her, and wants to hire her to model. I guess the writer noticed the same thing. Anyway kudos to all involved, and I will write another review later in this great series here on the oh so lovely IMDb!
Psych: Shawn Interrupted (2011)
Psych is Crazeeee Stupid Smart
Spoiler Alert...woop, woop, woop, not really I don't talk too extensively about plots when I review.
I really just want to say that having watched every episode up to this one, Psych has still got it baby. It just keeps rocking along.
Top Notch-a-rooney guest stars, I mean come on man, how cool is it to have both Brad Dourif, and Molly Ringwald in the same episode.
Great writing, kudos to the entire writing staff, when a series hits this many episodes, and keeps cranking out funny jokes, in-jokes, and cool reference jokes its a rare sight to behold.
Production values, tip top all the way, and a consistent cast that always delivers, and entertains. Television doesn't get much better than this.
I would say at this point in the series this show ranks up there with the greats of television like "The Rockford Files" . From the location shooting to the great writing Psych holds up on every level. Which is high praise indeed.
Oh, and when the butler bashed in the head of the doctor guy, at the end, and strangled the woman, that was such an unexpected twist...lol
The only thing missing in this particular episode was a chance for James Roday to do an homage to Brad Pitt's character in 12 Monkeys. Perhaps he is saving that for another day... weeee Well here's hoping Psych will be around for at least another couple of seasons....
Batman Begins (2005)
the bat is back in black
This is an exceptional movie, filled with coolness from start to finish. Christian Bale kicks bootasky, and he has a little help from his friends. You know a couple of small time actors like Michael Caine, Rutger Hauer, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldham, even Katie Holmes was excellent. Christian Bale did a great job, he was believable, and intense without being melancholy. Fantastic. They did such a great job of bringing Bruce Wayne to life that you find yourself enjoying the scenes with Bruce, as much if not more than The Bats himself. Tim Burtons first Batman film will always remain a classic, but this film goes along way towards knocking it off the top of the mountain as the best Batman movie ever!
Well written, well directed, well acted, well go see it monkey boy!!!
