Quid Games (2023)
two and a half minutes
Two and a half minutes is all I could watch of this, so it's not a fair review. What I did see is, is terrible acting, they stand like high school drama kids while they deliver their lines with all the emotion of a boiled turnip.
Special effects are something to behold. It's two and a half minutes in, so it can't be a spoiler. When the girl has her head beaten in by a rock, the blood on her face is so stick and congealed it looks like someone
just slathered pudding on her face.
Maybe this gets better, but I I'm not sure how that's possible judging by the opening gambit. ( text filler to reach limit )
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)
Started good, but e.4 sucked
The series started off with a great set piece of john goodman being chased by a giant spider ! Then it slowed right down to introduce the main characters. That was a little slow, but okay.
The "G-Day" ptsd was way overdone, and then was suddenly dropped.
The character development was fine, with a little Godzilla drill thrown in for some fun.
Then came the latest episode, #4... What to say about it? Lots of bad, little good. Biggest draw from reality is that they are in the arctic, but no out has a breath cloud !!! That instantly killed any believability in the episode. It has a titan in it too, but that was more believable than the characters. They all just seemed to accept the Titan's existence as we would react to seeing a dog.
The Munsters (2022)
Too stupid to believe
Well, Rob Zombie must have paid for this move, as no studio would touch this screenplay.
I am honest in saying that I saw this move about two weeks ago on an early release, but I could not post until the official release date.
Wow... where to start. First off, I only got through 9:32 minutes until I stopped the show, it is just that bad.
From the opening scene with the tomb raiders searching for treasure, and the approaching zombie sets up a decent dramatic buildup to the appearance of the zombie to the raiders.. then it goes silly with then killing the undead, but then trying out different poses with the zombie they killed.
Still not too bad, but very basic and simple humor, no real writing so far.
Next, Grandpa wakes up in a dramatic scene. Then he throws his back out and now we have a whole 1.5 minutes of him having his back aligned ?!
NOW... Why I turned it off... Lily's date is THE Nosferatu from the 1922 film, and they make him out to some uncouth pig. That killed the film for me, if Rob can humiliate the original vampire like that, f&^k him.
Nope (2022)
Never a more aptly named movie
One word review NOPE ! But I can't just post that, so I have to write more.
1. How does the thing fly? Don't ask, don't tell
2. What's with the chimp? Totally unrelated to the story, but they spend a lot of time talking about it.
3. At least show the chimp pulling June's face off or something to make this movie a little interesting
4. If you don't look at it, it won't eat you.. WTF !!!!
Slow plodding film with no direction.
5. main characters are as sympathetic as a bag of turnips, you never care if anyone lives or dies !! Bad writing there
6. Peele is a M. Knight wannabe, and that's not a high bar. At least this movie made a tiny bit more sense than Us, but not much.
Mai-chan no nichijô (2014)
Not bad, but..
If you threw about Y300 million at this, it would be a great work of horror. It never touched on that the master rents poor Mai out for money to be tortured, and the fx would have been sooo much better.
I think it's a good try for the money they had, but I have to only rate a 6, just because it could have easily been the new Texas Chainsaw or better.
Mad God (2021)
30 years? need 3 more
It took 30 years to make this, I'd expect something a lot more than this. It makes even less sense than that Stirgill Simpson anime sound and fury.
I got so bored I turned it off at 17 minutes. For everyone who spent years of your lives making this... you've wasted them.
As for being grotesque, it isn't. Even compared to mainstream anime like Corpse Party or school days.
Better Call Saul Presents: Slippin' Jimmy (2022)
Breaking bad for 7 year olds?
Wow shortest review I can post... Stupid AF !! Not funny, not interesting, no redeeming qualities. Just totally pointless. I have to type more, so it also should not be watched by anyone, ever !
The Freak Brothers (2020)
not that great
Like many, I have some of the original comics. This series is nothing like them. The cat was more of a narrator, but I guess Tiffany had to have a bigger part?
The adventures are stupid and have nothing to do with the source material. I can't see this lasting long, even with all the big names involved. It's just bad.
Call Me Kat (2021)
2nd season, call me a doctor
Still not funny, the jokes are mostly forced and most situations are seen 5 minutes before they happen. I guess fame and tv money is better than curing Cancer.
Good Sam (2022)
No regards for medical rules
1ST and foremost, A surgeon wakes up from a coma and goes back to work ?!?!?
There would be at least a year long review and testing to gain re certification to get hospital privileges .
And of course the new naive graduate knows more than the most senior surgeons
this show is even too stupid for fans of Gray's anatomy
This will not last one season, that is for sure.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Not funny, not scary, not anything
Rather poor excuse for a movie. Guess Bill Murray got all the other actors to be in this.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2014)
jumped the shark?
I loved this show for years, but this season is just terrible. I even turned off this last episode early because it's sooo not interesting or entertaining.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
If I was John Cena, I'd wear a mask too !!
How' it's 7+/10 I can attribute to most reviews written by 13 yr old boys. It's sloppily written, plot holes up the yinyang, and the good guys still manage to fire a 20 round clip assault rifle on full auto for about 10 seconds, or about. 100 rounds..... that's one heck of a long clip !!
King Shark is suddenly stupid for some reason?
Just a stupid pointless movie, no wonder they didn't advertise it much.. try to save as much money as they could.
Outer Banks (2020)
just kinda silly both seasons
S2E1 Sarah in bed with a guy, on the blankets and clothes on... c'mon stupid.. you'd hang your clothes over the nights and use the sheet for bugs.
Black Widow (2021)
Stupid kid fare
At 20 min.. spy cuts open the abdomen of another girl, disemboweling her... and her shirt is a little damp. No blood on the ground, nothing... Oh god. Just stupid pointless pg-13 clap trap. But it'll still earn 8 billion dollars *sigh*
Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021)
clone force?
I've not watched the SW animations before, so I'm sure people can explain this... why do all the clones in clone force look totally different from each other?
The humor in the opening fight scene is so geared towards 13 year olds that it makes the entire battle silly.
Clone force, more like clown force. Hope it gets better
I didn't like it.
