A French historical movie done by English and Americans

Even a historical French movie cannot be done by the Frenchmen.

Such a disgrace!

Repeat.

To like this movie you need to be a little bit with a scientific mind and a lot more with intelligent sense of humor.

The subtle humor in this movie really surprised me.

I am going to repeat this because I don't want to write anything else.

Disgrace

A wretched movie. As usual for a French title.

I would not like to be prejudiced. I give a chance to French films from time to time, but they are a complete failure in 99% of cases.

Shame.

A nation that 35 years ago knew how to make movies, but no longer.

A strange phenomenon.

Bad acting, bad script, directing.

Shame.

celebration of stupidity

This is such a stupid movie.

HPPYLY, you CAN NOT PURCHASE this film. HBO only released it to video rental stores, even though it's lesser sequel is available just about anywhere. To make matters BETTER, all tapes come with a Macrovision copy block.

So, if you can find it, grab it quick, before someone else does and you will regret it for your whole life!

The Words (2012)

Pure gem
10 December 2012
If you are a middle intelligent US American, and you think that the last Batman is the best movie ever or at least for 2012, please don't bother and don't watch "The Words". I can imagine that the story in moments seems so painful that it looks quite unbelievable for persons with shallow minds and dumb feelings. This is a very serious title with incredible research of the characters that will leave you thinking again and again on the story and even you may find some parallel in your own life. The wonderful weaving of the four stories leads to the culmination of one "unhappy end". And thank God, it is so, otherwise it would have been completely unrealistic and contrived bullshit. Four stories of two persons in their different ages. I was very careful when started to watch this movie because of the extremely negative reviews I read about it here, and what revealed afterwards was a pure gem. Don't missed it out!

Excellent parody!

Excellent parody! If you would wanted to watch a Star Wars type of movie you would be disappointed for sure, but if you appreciate the subtle irony then this your flick. I am sure that not much US Americans would enjoy it, because America is the greatest and you know, they have no mistakes! :) They only have jokes like: Hiroshima joke, Nagasaki joke, Vietnam joke and so on. And these were not acts of extreme fascism, but just peaceful and liberating intervention. ;) I liked this movie be not only for the good sarcasm, but also for the truths that have been said. This is a good German response to the Tarantino's Indigenous Bastards.

The Jewel (2011)

Don't miss this one!
13 January 2012
Usually I don't like the Italian films because they are somehow naive. Surprisingly in that one, the actors play at a very high level. Servillo is on top as usually. Realistically made, the film describes the real events surrounding the collapse of a large Italian company producing dairy products. If not mistaken, the actual prototype is Parmalat.

Other interesting titles like this theme are: - The Inside Job (although documentary, very interesting), which depicts the premises and the development of American financial crisis of 2008 caused deliberately by the financial circles, the government and a whole host U.S. presidents. While in The Jewel the abuse is focused around the company's management. - Margine Call. Describes the collapse of one of the banks that provoked the financial crisis 2008. Pretty unrealistic in comparison to The Jewel. - Boiler room - a financial crash micro cosmos.

Do not miss this film.

The Thing (I) (2011)

Much better than the original!
26 November 2011
It's surprisingly really good. This movie has been out for like 2 days and all I've read are reviews from those self-proclaimed "loyal fans of the original" (and by original, I don't mean "The Thing From Another World") that feel betrayed or disappointed or whatever. It is NOT just a beat for beat remake of the remake, AND it contains some excellent practical monster effects early on. This film is awesome...it brings back good old fashioned horror and suspense. The performances are strong and Winstead solidifies her legendary status in fan boy and geek worlds by continually picking projects that showcase her talent while not compromising her integrity.Edgerton has been on a streak with another fantastic performance.Beltrami's score is nostalgic while refreshing. This film is a perfect companion piece to Carpenter's film.Solid filmmaking! John Carpenter could educate himself from this movie!

Warning: Spoilers
Let's be honest. This a melodramatic Indian Bollywood stile movie with a Muslim decor, which has so many holes that you can water your garden with it. Of course, there were some entertaining moments, and the acting was not so bad. But please, it was completely unrealistic. How could one know that a new born baby will have homosexual mind in the future? Or is there really so naive pimps in that world? And what a strange society! Is that really true? If a group of men find a shy boy, must they rape him brutally? Where are the high religious moral of the people of that country. In the end, that split from India because that claim that they are true believers. And what a naive questions at the end of the movie, "isn't it a crime to create more children than you could feed?". Actually in India call it ''varna sankara'' - unwanted population. It happens when the society is ill and is far from the true religious principals.

Perfect
29 June 2011
It is rare to find a movie so meaningful, interesting and beautiful altogether. The music is perfect. It really can give some idea of the reincarnation, karma and eternity - the process that all we are involved in this world. Although it does not go far than this, to the questions as "Is there anything beyond karma, and incarnation", and "what is it?",or "How to go there". The conclusion that the eternal life in this world is impossible, or even if it becomes almost possible is meaningless, is another marvellous insight. The movie does not give the way but it can help for certain realizations for the real seekers. Serious movie that is a must to see. The real average rating should be over 8.
