Enjoyable Romcom About Airline Cabin Crew
I first saw this movie when it was still fashionable to rent movie's lol..I throughly enjoyed it and watched it twice before i had to return it,Donna Jensen is a down on her luck girl living in a trailer park working at the local walmartesque store when her long term boyfriend dump's her in her birthday card..So she then decides enough is enough and after seeing candice bergen's character "sally weston" on a TV show talking about her lifelong career as a very successful flight attendent she decides that's the path she would like to take..And promptly gets a interview with sierra airlines and is successful making short city hop's from laughlin to Fresno and on her weekend's off talking to mike played by mark ruffalo the love interest throughout the movie..Then 1 day in a diner her and her colleagues played by Kelly Preston, and Christina applegate see 3 flight attendants who quite obviously fly the 747's and are discussing new york,Chanel,London etc..All 3 of them decide to take a road trip to the royality airline's recruitment drive where only Christina and Gweneth are successful after lot's of intense training and finally getting cheated by Christina Gweneth end's up working for royality express a more comfier version of sierra..And then it starts to wrap up sally weston encourages Donna to take the test again and quickly realises that she was cheated she finally gets her job in 1st class on 747's and then its mega shifts and quite a bit of unhappiness..She finally declares her love for mark ruffalo and becomes a royality airline pilot....
The Witches (1990)
Kid's Thriller
Me and my sister throughly enjoy this movie and have watched it on a number of occasions,We both now own it on DVD and i have had to replace my copy due to over usage lol,The main plot line is an old grandmother who seems to have a fairly knowledgeable background on witches and witchcraft etc..Her grandson Luke basks in the glory and jumps at the chance to hear one of her tall tales, she begins to tell him a story one evening about the ruler of all the witches "THE GRAND HIGH WITCH" while she is babysitting him while his parents go out to dinner..Sadly they don't make it home and die in a car crash, she then precedes in taking him back to england because the first part of the movie is set in bergen,Norway..When back home Luke's grandmother develops diabetes and has a funny turn on his birthday when the doctor has attended to his grandmother she suggests a holiday by the sea..Thats when the real fun starts,he stumbles upon a witches coven while on holiday in a swanky hotel parading themselves as NSPCC charity workers but there real plan is to turn all the children in england into mice by buying sweet shops and injecting FORMULA 86 into there stock..Lots of fun moments and thrilling moments later Luke and his holiday chum have been turned into mice themselves..And a huge finale of the witches themselves getting transformed..All in all its a fantastic movie and the really nice part about writing this review is that the witches is now my nieces favourite movie
Hostage Flight (1985)
Worth a watch!!
I enjoyed the movie immensely it keep you guessing all the way through and featured enough action and suspense to keep me watching all the way through..The ending was a bit lack lustre though because it didn't explain any feelings as to why they did what they did..Was also quite shocked by the female flight attendants execution and also the young girls beating/rape..The drama throughout the movie was extremely good and anyone that found themselves in that situation would be just as scared i always find that airline hijacking movies do very well in portraying what the situation would be like..Another one that i recommend is The flight the uli derrickson story thats another very well portrayed airline hostage situation
The Road to Coronation Street (2010)
Amazing story of how it all began..
It starts off with actress "Jessie Wallace" portraying "Pat Phoenix" running down a corridor looking for tony warren for his support 7min's before first transmission. Then it cut's back to the past day's which show's tony's extremely hard work to get his feet under the table at Granada television which he fail's to do on the acting side. Then one of the producers mentions about someone upstairs looking for young, northern writer's to nurture which turns out to be Canadian harry Elton..Without droning on to much it's a really good plot line of how one of Britain's best loved soap operas very nearly became a pile of papers on the hearth. And how the bigwig's at Granada didn't even want it commissioned in the first place..I gave it 10 out of 10 and throughly enjoy it so much so i have seen it 3time's..I write this review after just seeing for the 3rd time and also today's day is coronation street's official 50th birthday not bad for a show that was only commissioned for 13 episodes.
