Remo Williams: The Prophecy (1988 TV Movie)
I SAW THIS!!!
9 July 2004
This was aired!! I saw it a when it aired and I remember it as fresh as a daisy!

My big brother took me to see Remo Williams when I was 9 and it is one of my best childhood memories, so when this show aired I was excited as heck!

It was great from the perspective of a 12 year old, whatever that says.

One cool thing was that it took off right from where the movie ends. I only saw one episode (the pilot) and I am told they never aired another.

REMO RULES!!

A Beautiful Film
1 June 2004
I saw this movie on Masterpiece Theatre on PBS. It was so amazing in every aspect that the story, acting and production were all worthy of a major motion picture release.

People will always say (rightly so) that movies are never as good as the book, however, this movie is one of only two movies I have ever seen that are in my opinion better that the original writing they are taken from (the other being Billy Budd).

I love Langston Hughes and all, but the original short story was a little short and lacking in emotion. That being said, read the story and see this movie if you ever get the chance.

Scared me all to heck
12 January 2004
I was a kid when I first saw this, it scared the bejeezus outta me. In my opinion, this was much more disturbing than its contemporary "The Day After".

This movie focused more on one persons psychological ordeal, some very chilling scenes that I can recall with perfect clarity.

An Interesting Adaptation
24 December 2003
I have a feeling that people who trash this movie are doing so out of a deep seeded love for the Alistair Sim classic, and a refusal to enjoy any other version. This is an interesting adaptation and worth watching.

I especially enjoy the fact that the story continues after Scrooges transformation, showing how people deal with an overnight change in someone they have long feared and stopped trusting.

Hey, I like the 1951 version too, watch them both for Christmas!

Excellent slow burn film
15 October 2003
I don't have any long winded commentary for this film, suffice to say that it was fantastic. If you are a western fan, 10 out of 10, if not then 8 out of 10 at least. Not a fast paced action movie, but very believable and engrossing in it's story, however when the inevitable violence does take place, it is intense and gritty and better than any action flick. (And I'm no snooty art film guy, I like action flicks!)
