The Orville: Nothing Left on Earth Excepting Fishes (2019)
One of the best episodes so far.
Ed Mercer has had alot of problems moving on from his ex-wife since the series started. In this episode it finally appears he's found something good.
However a shore leave trip brings reality back into focus in an extremely jaring way.
Now Ed must deal with his personal feelings and try to seperate them from his mission for the Planetary Union, all while surviving being marooned on an uninhabited planet, and being pursued by a race who would think nothing of killing him.
Meanwhile Lt. Gordon Malloy's sudden interest in command training makes Cmdr. Grayson question his motives. He finds however that after stripping away the superficial reason for his decision, he finds that his desire for command lies in a much deeper introspection of his life.
Capt. Mercer manages to send a distress signal to the Orville and Lt. Malloy's quick thinking and piloting skills get Ed out of trouble in the nick of time.
Back aboard the ship Ed must face a difficult decision between his feelings and his desire to see progress made in his overall mission, eventually making a decision that may put his career in jeopardy, but also leads to a heartfelt moment to end the episode.
Madam Secretary: North to the Future (2017)
OMG I sprayed soda out my nose.....
The "Sex Kills" line Elizabeth McCord delivers in the episode absolutely killed me. I couldn't stop laughing.
The episodes overarching story of melting permafrost and long dormant released diseases and gasses is very topical and interesting. And it was an interesting twist on the supposed reason behind the episodes main plot.
One of the best Madam Secretary episodes i've seen.
