Psycho (1960)
10/10
The best film ever in my opinion
9 April 2003
The truth of the matter is, everytime I think about great films, Psycho is the first to enter my mind. Ever since I saw it for the first time in 1989 on television I have not been able to let go. The simplicity of the imagery, and the fine-skilled actors, make it into a masterpiece. Hitchcock went on to make many great movies more, but "Pscyho" is the portrayal of a very disturbed man and his mental state is shown simple, matter-of-factly like only Hitch could do it. I´ve seen it 10 times now, and I will continue to, because it´s the best film I have ever seen. And now,if you will excuse me, Mother is kind of hungry.....

Biggest Ass-Kissing Oh you are such a talent darling horror of all time
17 November 2002
There are no words to describe this tedious ride through celebland. The plot is boring, the acting is over and the whole thing is just one celeb saying to another celeb "Oh, gee, don´t you wanna be in my movie, I think you´re great". And there is nothing more foul than Gwyneth Paltrow acting she´s on acid. There is also a "you have to do something for our anniversary"-bit where the whole cast seperately performs a musical thingy which is the most boring I guess. Best to be VERY avoided.

Suspiria (1977)
Barbed wire
11 November 2002
Since Psycho, I hadn´t seen anything that made it unable for me to sleep for at least 2 months. Never before did I experience such a fear after seeing a horror film. The attacking dog scene, the frenzied music, and the barbed wire scene make it all into the most violent of horror films I know. However, the visuals are indeed stunning and the acting is subdued so the psychological effect is thousand times bigger. A masterpiece, indeed.

Repulsion (1965)
One of the best movies ever made
11 November 2002
There is an addictiveness about watching this. From the rotting rabbit to Catherine trying to iron without the cord plugged in until the very last disturbing legs-under-the-bed scene, it´s a ride to hell. Polanski locked up Deneuve nearly 2 months in a London hotel just one week after she gave birth to Vadim´s baby. You can tell, however harrowing, that it had it´s effect. A lot of people cannot handle this film still, nearly fourty years after it has been made. A masterpiece.

Lipstick (1976)
most horrible rape scene in cinematographic history?
7 November 2002
Weird music and perversion all around. The fact Margaux killed herself a few years ago doesn´t make for better viewing. Best to avoid at any cost. The rape scene just goes on forever in graphic detail with this crazy synthesizer music. It´s not even entertaining. Just bowel-turning.

One of the best Sophia Loren Moments
11 September 2002
This is one of the sweetest Sophia Loren films. I always found she is at her best in movies made in her home country, which is kind of logical too.Marcello is in it,as is a tremendous easy listening soundtrack by Armando Trovaioli. Mastroianni and Loren hit it off, even though Marcello is acting a bit bland. Funny, delightful, silly, sweet. A rainy Sunday afternoon film. See it!
