Stranded in Paradise (2014)
Good Plot
I thought the idea behind this script was great. I was let down a bit by the actual final product however. I didn't feel romantic chemistry with the leads. The female lead is tiny and attractive, she played her role very believably. I was impressed by her. I liked the character of Stella also, but it felt a bit scripted when the dialogue took place. I would like to see this movie reworked and with different actors, but I am just a housewife not a producer lol. All in all a cute story for a love movie fix if you need one.
Spoiler Alert:
At the end I wondered why Luis appeared to be hailing a cab to leave the airport (when he sees Tess arriving), then appear to be in line to get on a plane a few moments later. When he is asked why he is at the airport he responds he is going on vacation. But then, he is in the end scene (very prominently) dancing with Stella?
Facing: Facing Putin (2016)
obvious propaganda
The corporation called the US is leading the rebels in Syria and Russia is challenging their terrorist acts. ISIS was founded by the Americans, just as Al queda was. Vladimir Putin is a wonderful leader from what I have seen and he protects his Motherland. I believe he has read the works of Vladimir Megre, a study of a woman that lives in the tiaga named Anastasia that has ancient knowledge. This has changed him and given him a new outlook on life in the last ten years I believe. This bit puts Putin in the same rank as Saddam and is a way to pit the American people against Russia. Putin is telling the American people the truth and tptb are trying to silence him. Look up the videos on youtube. If he was with the cabal, he is no longer.
Nymphomaniac: Vol. I (2013)
Skip It
If you came to this film hoping for some 'action' due to the title, just go on by. Aside from being generally depressing, the story is not completely thought out. There are serious issues with characters and timelines. There should have been one more actress to play Joe, the movie jumps from a very youthful attractive actress, to the older Joe we meet at the beginning in just a 3 year span and the child did not age more than a year? There are parts that disgusted me enough that I did not watch, and I am very open minded. If you are looking for a movie to shock you or your friends, this is one. If you are looking for a sex story about a hot nympho, this is not it. The scene I could not watch is the one in which she gives herself an abortion.
Happiness Runs (2010)
Interesting and all should be warned about a particular scene
I found this movie interesting. It was probably healing for the man whose experiences it was based on. I read several negative reviews when I took a break in the middle of the movie. Apart from the burn scene, I liked it (I saw a spoiler and skipped that scene). I felt the main character, Victor, was likable and expressed well by the actor. All of the young actors did a great job in my opinion. I felt the same about Andie McDowell as I always have, she comes off like she is reading her lines. I was just wondering where Rutger Hauer was the other day and this movie popped up in my suggestions box. I feel he portrayed Insley as well as could be expected with the limited amount of screen time. Others have said this movie could be so much more- it was from the youth perspective. We could have seen Insley and the other adults more if it were about them, but it wasn't. It was about the pain the creator felt growing up in a half utopia. The commune creators got parts of it right (lots of cannabis and open sex and nudity, sharing everything), but missed other important facets to utopian life like equality, avoiding chemicals, open dialogue that involved all members of the society including children, and likely natural parenting with attachment parenting (oh and not brainwashing through hypnosis is a biggie). The kids seemed messed up like the kids I grew up with, not what I would expect from a supposed utopian society. I would recommend it as interesting.
The Secret (2006)
A beginning
This movie is on the front wave of the movies that are coming out now, that reflect and affect our collective consciousness. Movies like "What the Bleep Do We Know", "One- the Movie" I bought a copy right away and show it to everyone I know. There is but one message being sent, and now it is coming across in so many forms. We all are one. This movie will appeal to the masses because it shows them how to step out of their rut. This weekend, "CWG the movie" is being released. I read all the books and I am happy the movie is coming out, so more will see it, the visual is so much easier for some. I cannot recommend these movies highly enough.
