College (2008)
Original, not rip-off!
I read the message board comments here for College, and a lot of them talk about this movie being a rip off of SuperBad or American Pie type movies. I don't see it. Yes it is in the same genre as these movies, but it's not the same. And would it really be all that bad anyway, Superbad was awesome! As awesome as it was, College has it beat I have to say. I know, I know, how could that happen? Well it did. Like I said College keeps with in the teen comedy genre, but it is done so differently, it's refreshing. I was very impressed with the way they were able to make this movie stand out and be so unique. The people behind this film must be brilliant. Go check it out, you'll laugh through the whole thing.
The Life Before Her Eyes (2007)
Life isn't what it seems, neither is this film
"Diane's life isn't what it seems"......who's is right? In this film, as the anniversary of a tragic school shooting that killed Diane's (Uma Thurman)best friend approaches, she is forced to confront and deal with a not so perfect past. In the present, Diane is a mother and wife living what seems to be the perfect little life in the same little town in which she grew up. In the past, she and her best friend were typical teenagers, doing typical teenage stuff and dreaming of one day leaving the small town. The plot thickens as the story unwinds, revealing details that change the story. In order to not spoil the film, I will leave it at that. This film truly sparks the emotion of the viewer, and produces more than originally thought.
Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008)
Great look into a covered world
I loved this doc. It really gives you a realistic take on the ever masked world of steroid use. We all know that this exists, but how where and why have never really been revealed. Human behavior will never cease to amaze the public, and myself. The display of physical changes that this drug causes is amazing! I had the basic knowledge of the side effects, but holy cow. Seeing the arms of one of the men is mind blowing. Along with the brothers featured in this film, it peeks into the lives and past/present drug use of many of the major sports celebrities. Hulk Hogan being one of them. I find the level of honesty from both pros and amateurs extremely impressive and admirable. This movie has the ability to make some changes.
