Bad Boys (1983)
Camera mistake
There is a huge camera mistake in this film that is by far the biggest flub I have ever seen. At the end of the film, when Penn and Esai are fighting, When they get to ground combat, Look for a Camera Man and his assistant in the crowd scene photographing the action. He is moving on the ground with his assistant helping him on the way It is a quick cut, But its amazing the editor did not see it. I would of figured that a mistake like this would have been cut out, But you must decide. I cannot ever recall that a scene like this would have ever got away from the editor's. Also, Jammie Lee Curtis can be seen in the film as the tall girl with a huge Afro walking down the street as Esai's boys come to his apt Building for the 1st time in the film. Look Carefully, Its Her.
Kung Fu Rascals (1992)
Original super 8mm
For those of you have seen this movie , this is actually a remake of Steve's great super 8mm film he did in the early 80's which to me is not as polished as this film, but a lot funnier. Steve along with local Bay Area friends from San Jose made this classic . I own a copy but it is a little on the grainy side. To see this 8mm classic is a holy gem.
From what I have been told, I do believe this film some sort of bet that Steve made that a film of this type could be made on a modest budget. There are a lot of great in jokes with great kung fu action.
There is also a great kicking soundtrack by Johnny and his punk band. The Theme- We are the Kung fu Rascals , And we don't need no hassles, If trouble is what you are giving, You must be tired of living.
Zhong guo chao ren (1975)
Inframan
I had the unique opportunity to see this film without knowing what I was in for.'' I was in Los Angeles and was invited to see it along with another film at the famed Egyptian theater. I thought this was a b&w old Japanese film. Boy was I in for a surprise.'' I have to admit, I was with an audience that was laughing hard throughout the whole film . I never had so much fun with a screened film before ''. If you view this film, keep in mind, this is not Gone With The Wind, but a low budget film with quite afew great effects, as well as some not so great.'' Also, hilarious dubbing by Peter Fernandez and his crew. You will have a great time viewing it.
