Runaway Bride (1999)
average plot, decent beginning, mediocre conclusion
When I began this movie, it seemed to me like a movie with some potential, and not the typical boring story. To me, it has quite a creative beginning for a movie about a Runaway Bride. (It's probably difficult to keep interest in a simple movie about a Runaway Bride.) However, the closer you get to the end of the movie, the more and more simple and predictable the script becomes.
This movie reminds me of the movie Paycheck, in that way. Why is it that so many new movies start off great yet end so badly?
If you're a fan of simple, predictable romantic movies with likely borrowed lines and minimal twists, this is a movie for you.
In conclusion, it's a movie with potential, but not really worth watching unless you're bored, or a major fan of one of the actor/actresses involved.
The Butterfly Effect (2004)
worth seeing for the end (not spoiler)
I don't have much to say, except that this movie is sort of messed up. It's one of those movies that incorporate the whole blackout/skip effect and combine it in a mystical kind of way; In other words, it's a movie with very broken logic. There's likely to be many loopholes in it, some obvious, many that can be justified. They also never explain how it's possible.
Some people criticize with the acting, but I usually watch a movie more for it's story line and effect. Thus I don't have much to comment regarding it's acting. To me, the acting was fine. But I'm not really picky about acting, as long as it's somewhat acceptable.
That being said, I would say this movie is worth seeing. Why? The end alone makes this movie alright, at least to me. It's one of those endings, where you either like it, or hate it. To provoke such a response indicates it's somewhat of a decent movie. I would see this movie just because of it's ending.
Undercover Angel (1999)
touching! this should've been rated better
Although the girl is unbelievably smart and mature in this movie, it has a very touching, interesting and inspirational story. Emily Mae Young plays a very cute 6 year old girl that through out the movie will keep you interested. Although I've noticed some parts of it wasn't filmed as well as it could've been, it's probably not easy to film a movie to portray a little girl so cute and smart. Some parts of it almost made me cry, and I rarely cry. I can't believe it got such a low rating on IMDb, this movie should've got at least a 7. I would give it a 8/10.
