I Know Who Killed Me (2007)
A film for the open minded
First of i have to say that i wouldn't have watched the film because of all the negative reviews i read and on word of mouth by friends and family which didn't exactly make me want to go out and buy or rent it. If anything this film is one to be loved or hated and in most cases, hated, but i have to admit i actually liked the film, not that it was Oscar worthy or even a favourite of mine, but i would recommend it because although the film has it flaws, it does, in my opinion, have some good assets. Linsday Lohan (playing the dual roles of Abrey Fleming and Dakota Moss) plays both characters, who do differ in personality and background, with great passion and is extremely endearing to watch, displaying her dramatic and comedic talents in this dark thriller. Visually, the colours and direction are excellent; creating immense intensity and cinematically, colours that capture each girl (red and blue) being suggestive and extremely poignant. The story to some may seem far fetched, but it is-quite original and offers a lot of thought after i watched it. It can be a little hard to take in but i find it very rare for a thriller/horror to be chilling yet touching. Gore is evident in the film and at times can be quite irrelevant but does have a purpose, yet the "less is more" theory really should have been taken into effect in this situation. What made the film bad for me was the awful police/FBI characters that could have easily been in a film which was a parody, but in this film they were laughable, often displaying no emotion or passion, no drive behind the murdered victims. What really spoilt the film for me was the fact that Aubrey was alive, and as depressing as it sounds, i would rather have had Dakota find her dead sister and finding some peace in knowing where she was, even if she was dead. Without Lindsay Lohan i don't think this movie would have worked for me and i know many hated this film, i believe it is worth a watch and does hold some credibility.
One Missed Call (2008)
Lazy people put a few films in one to make an awful movie
If you have seen final destination or the ring or any crappy horror movie with a leading lady as bad as Shannyn Sossaman, then this film fits right in that category. Although, i must say, that the film did have a lot of potential, but the shoddy plot and story lines that we have seen in other films keep it from being good, and the only good thing about this film was the chilling music. and as for the fake TV show about miracles, what the hell! My advice to anyone watching this movie is that there are no actors worth seeing, the effects are not anything to write home about and the twist is whimsical and dull. NOTE: Everyone in the film seems to have the exact same phones, apart from its colour, which is completely unrealistic! On the plus, Ed Burns who plays the police officer is gorgeous! Probably the only thing worth watching in this terrible film!
Teeth (2007)
Teeth lacks the bite!
All i am going to say is laughable! Terrible acting and pathetic script. I spent the whole film thinking that Jess Weixler looks like Amanda Seigfried from Mamma Mia and Mean Girls, not the actual film. I wouldn't recommend this film to my worst enemy! Please no sequel! As for Vagina Dentata, it sounds as unreal as it is! Please do not watch this rubbish! If you want a laugh, see it by all means! Cardboard has more charisma than the actors! Teeth is the next Gigli for me 2/10, and that's me being generous! What i do like about this film is it's complete disregard of reality or character, put this film straight into the bargain bin!
Invisible Child (1999)
A Noble attempt at a lacklustre script
First off, Invisible Child had the chance to be a brilliant movie, but the direction is just plain awful, and seems very amateur. But what saves this film is a flawless performance from a young Mae Whitman as Rebecca "Doc" Beeman, who shows up mediocre portrayals from leading stars Rita Wilson, Victor Garber and Tushka Bergen. I will admit that the story is a little far fetched, but it is sweet. The script is laughable at times but does offer some poignant dialogue and very sweet moments. While i liked the film i was disgusted by the way Mr Beeman makes his daughter play along with the fantasy, and how nothing feasible is done for this woman's fantasy. I would recommend to watch this film, but only for the open minded consensus.
Perfect Body (1997)
A Heartwrenching story about a girl's want to succeed, whatever the cost.
Well to start off i must applaud Amy Jo Johnson for her portrayal of teenage gymnast Andie, considering her awful performances in other films i have seen her in (which i won't name due to how incredibly bad they are). If anything Perfect Body may be a tad cliché, but most movies tend to be and people forget it is a TV movie, most of our lives are cliché and we can relate to Andie's suffering as it is the human condition. Andie's parents plod along well through the film, whilst flat, 2 dimensional performances from Tara Boger and Ron Melendez do keep it from being 10/10 for me. But what this film does have is a happy ending with a character who is almost killed by gymnastics, but still goes back to it because it is her passion, not completely forget it which isn't realistic. The chemistry between Andie and her boyfriend is not always evident but they do have a sweet spark in some scenes. Thinking that Amy Jo Johnson was once the Pink Ranger and this film is solely centered around gymnastics and bulimia, it offers a genuine story that captures immense verve, courage and the devout strength of a girl wanting to achieve. This film isn't trying to be something it isn't,which some blockbuster turkeys like the god awful Pearl Harbour try to be.
