Lucky Day (2002)
Awful
I have read some of Mary Higgins Clark's books and at best they are mediocre to start with. It would be unimaginable to mention her name in the same breath as the likes of classic mystery authors such as Christie or Le Carre. Having said that, this film really takes the biscuit. It is filmed like an Australian/American soap opera with the 'actors' responding to anything that happens or is said to them with a gasp, a sigh and a long look into the distance before delivering a dry and unbelievable reply. The 'star' is the same actress that rose to a short lived part in the UK soap opera Emmerdale...and she was actually more believable in that. I warn you... if you have some paint to watch dry... do that. My girlfriend described it as 'Days of our lives', with less talent than the cast of Friends.
The Thing Below (2004)
aka Ghost Rig 2
Sounded interesting, so out of boredom stuck the DVD in and pressed play.
Immediately realised the budget was about £500. Which I realised they blew on a 'porn star' to dance around topless at some point for no reason.
The CGI was obviously created by a 7 year old, and directed by a deaf/dumb/blind/retard.
To say the acting was wooden would upset a lot of forests. I could have come up with a better cast using William shatner, Patrick Stewart and various other people picked up from rehab clinics and mental asylums.
Has anyone reading this seen Midnight Chronicles?? Well that was slightly better! This film was more than disappointing, it was abysmal... I can generally watch low budget films and poke fun at the end, but when the credits roll say to myself.. "hmmm that had a good plot etc..>" this film... NO - no redeeming factors.
Avoid the thing below. As if it was a disease down below.
