Why that end?
9 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I did love it... almost. The director played freely until the end, where my kids couldn't understand what happen and couldn't stop crying, incapable of understanding why during the whole movie the characters are separated and never ever meet again.

Neither did I.

I mean, you create such a beautiful, imaginative movie, such a delight, a must see, and then you end it with real life... When you have the power of animation you are free to brake the rules of real life. And Pablo Berger did it all the movie, even in his final dream.

Beautiful, different, creative, well crafted story with freedom and imagination... until the final breaking-heart scene.

Touching, beautiful, a piece of art
26 July 2022
I went to see this movie to the theater as my teenager sister loves Anime and she knows the quality of Mad House studio.

Wow!!!!

What a beautiful movie is this one. So we'll crafted, so we'll written and directed, animated and told. We all ended up crying, touched by the emotional story of three teenager friends and their simple adventures, yet fantastic and full of vitality. That's why I love cinema. A subtle, profound and touching piece of art.

A piece of art.

The most powerful force in the universe
30 December 2021
I watched the three previous movies and this one connects all of them, recognizing the power of love as the most powerful creative force of the universe and proposing a society where divisions are beginning to fall apart and machines and humans are finding a way to live together. Evolution.

War and oppression are still there for the sake of the story, but the main bet of the director seems to be showing that stories may be the same ones, repeatedly during centuries, in multiple bodies, buy only love can create new opportunities and reset us all.

It's more than a romantic idea, it's a truth. And it had to be a risky Wachowsky director the one who decided to create a revolutionary story like this one, even as we expected more bullets and special effects. But we asked them to go beyond. And even if many don't get it, that's really it: going beyond the already expected story.

So funny
29 December 2021
I really enjoyed. Finally a really simple, fun and entertaining movie. Amidst so many sexual, confusing and simple comedies, this one just pops-up as a refreshing option. Had a lot of fun watching it.

What a piece of a movie
21 December 2021
Of course, everyone has different criteria, but this movie is one of the best of this year. The pace, the characters and the subtle construction of the friendship of the editor and the writer, and their powerful interpretations touched my heart. I was really moved. Michael Caine is a giant. And she is terrific. I am a writer and could feel identified with the movie. Brilliant.

Great winners and wonderful competitors
15 November 2021
I don't like this type of shows with eliminations, but followed this one until this last episode and felt glad about the results and the creativity of winner and competitors. All the teams were wonderful.

Couldn't resist it
28 February 2021
I waited 45 minutes for the story to develop, for any story to capture me, but got bored after so many dialogues and no story at all. I guess that the story became better, but if for 45 minutes nothing compels you to keep watching, there is no sense on keep watching.

What a wonderful movie
25 February 2020
This movie is an opportunity to open our eyes. It's not only a well narrated and wonderfully told story, but one of those movies you always recommend and that every one should see to discover how much the corporations and the governments fool us all and play with us, and what our responsibility are. Applause and standing ovation for the director, crew and for the real characters of this story.

A movie meant to cause controversy and stay in our minds for years
20 July 2017
This movie tells the story of a teenager who struggles to find his own identity in this world, but must confront a society incapable of understanding differences, gender variations or our own choices, whatever they are. Well crafted, this movie tells the story of bullying from the perspective of a teenager, but also proves that the position of parents and teachers are crucial if we desire to prevent this type of behavior. Mariposas Verdes is meant to be a movie that causes controversy and stays in the mind of the viewer, just as much as the book Mariposas Verdes.

great movie
31 July 2016
I didn't see this movie when it arrived to the theaters. And forget it pretty soon. But what a great movie it is. I just saw it last night and was impressed and touched. The movie involves three different stories with characters that are all tied to each other in the same main big story, referring to a man who wants to be a great writer, the old man who actually wrote the story that takes the writer to be famous and the story of a writer who reads the story of them two. With excellent and delicate music and cinematography, wit a beautiful edition and direction, the movie confronted me with the decisions we make, regret, past, honesty, ethics and the limitations of life. Absolutely beautiful, it touched my heart.

Interstellar (2014)

artwork
10 November 2014
This is a work of art. Despite its deep complexity, Interstellar is never difficult to understand. Besides, its absolute beauty is always present. This is not an action film, it doesn't include spaceships battles and does not confront good or bad, fortunately. It is, however, the most beautiful space exploration that I remember seeing, without discrediting other films. Because Interstellar never competes against any other film: stands alone by itself and take the most complex issues of quantum physics and flows during the movie like astronauts in space, with terrific performances, remembering that we are human beings attached to others, and first of all, we are explorers, we evolve and what we see is more wonderful than what we think we know. An absolute, magical and wonderful artwork. I recommended this movie a thousand times.

Weak plot and lots of nonsense battles
18 August 2014
I read some opinions from different users before watching the movie and even got excited about the idea of paying my entrance for Guardians of the Galaxy, but was absolutely disappointed because what I found was, once again -as many major blockbusters do-, a weak plot and lots of action scenes without an strong story behind. And when a movie lacks an story it feels like an amount of nonsense battles and a compendium of action heroes against bad guys. I really like the characters of the film, but the quality of a movie cannot rely on the strenght of undeveloped characters. Star Wars is still ligth years ahead from these Guardians. Sorry. Waste of money and time.

A good story and great animation
13 September 2012
I normally go to adult movies. But once in a while, with my little daughter, we decide to go to the theaters to discover the magic of animation. I do frequently criticize movies that do not have strong stories. And animated movies are part of those. But the four movies of Tinker Bell are outstanding. Not only because of the animation or the creativity involved in every situation, but specially because the story is normally so strong, and the characters are so well defined, that a sense of emotion comes from me and my family at the end of the movie, and when any movie touches you in some way, it has achieved its goal. Totally recommended for families and people who wants to discover something new in a classic story.

Anita (2009)

What a touching film
15 January 2010
I just found this title and decided to see it because in the credits was the name of Norma Leandro. The fact is that the fantastic actress from Argentina is not the one who touches you and remains in your memory: is Anita (Alejandra Manzo), the girl with down syndrome, who performs a truly remarkable, emotional and touching film. The script is simple, but Marcos Carnevale, the director (Elsa & Fred), leads the story with sensibility and yet distance. It's all about this woman, Anita, who loses her mother after a bomb explosion in Buenos Aires, and gets lost in the city. During several days she walks and finds people who doesn't know what to do with her. She isn't able to say too much about what happened to her because her world was limited to her mother's company. With this few elements a great movie is done and delivered to the audience. I don't live in Argentina. But this film convinces me that in this country there is a profound sensibility that is expressed in films. A must see, if you like movies where the human beings are shown as they are, as we are.
